The airline said there had been no chance to dispatch a helicopter to the aircraft on Sep 29th, another attempt would be made on Sep 30th. Rescue teams still attempt to get to the aircraft over land which however involves difficult terrain.

Pfoew, glad my girlfriend and I didn't opt for this route with NBA two weeks ago and went to Gunung Leuser National Park by car instead. My gf doesn't trust small airplanes and in this case she was right, unfortunately.

So strange, the fuselage still looks quite intact. ( but we all know the picture of the "intact" cockpit of the Panam crashed 747 at Lockerbie - it was stated that the pilots were still in their seats...)
And with other crashes where airplanes were shattered to pieces, there were survivors who were catapulted out of the aircraft.
Fate...
It reminds me a bit of the Vietnam Airlines crash where only 1 person survived in the fuselage for days.
