Of course I know CO will be gone soon (CO aircraft are painted at a quite fast rate and one single operating certificate will come in 2012). I just ment that with the end of CO metal on the EWR route it will really be the end of CO at BRU (before all aircraft will be painted) except if CO would launch a IAH flight with a B762 or a CO B752 on one of the excisting routes before they will all be painted in the 'new United' colors. And yes I do reallize that there is only a very small chance that we will ever see a 'real' CO plane ever in BRU again after 29 September. And yes I know why UA decided to operate a UA B772 with F class to BRU. No need to explain it to me. ;)

Seems to me UNITED (newco) is considering BRU as a premium market in Europe; they will serve both IAD and EWR on 777 and ORD on 763, all with F class!

In contrast, AMS will see reductions in service...

STAR alliance ties are important in this of course.

There is something I don't get. CO/UA will not fly under the same operating certificate untill somewhere in 2012 if MrBoeing is correct. As from september United will fly EWR-BRU under flightnumber UA960. Does this mean UA technically takes over the CO flight as from that date untill it flies under one certificate with CO thus forming the new United Airlines?

That's what it looks like indeed.

The reason could be that they want to operate the flight with a 'real' UA 777 rather than an (ex-)CO to make use of ist bigger premium cabin and since CO and UA are not expected to operate on one AOC by then, wanting to use UA metal also means using UA crews and UA flight numbers...

UAL will indeed get their SOC somewhere in 2012. So effective September 29, the CO route (CO60/61) will not be operated anymore by COA but the route will be transfered from COA to UAL (but remains in the same holding company: United Continental Holdings). UAL960/961 will be the new flightnumber from that date on and chances are that that flightnumber remains after SOC. (UA/UAL will be held, CO/COA will disappear) (also Boeing customercode "24" should disappear in favour of customercode "22" but no official news about that yet)

As I remember correct all "old" branding for both companies (except the planes that need to be repainted) will vanish starting from March (or was it May?, have to look it up) as "customer day one" commences. So when UA takes over the CO route it will be allready a UA flight but operated by CO. From Sept. 29 it will be a UA flight operated by UA :)

Aeroflot Moscow Sheremetyevo – Brussels planned Increase to 11 weekly has been cancelled. The airline currently schedules 8 weekly service in Summer 2011, compared to 7 in Summer 2010.

Source: airlineroute.net

Will SN also be allowed to increase to 8 weekly? In the past they were prevented from introducing a second daily because Aeroflot could not match.

Brussels to Moscow is poorly served, when you compare to Paris (with 5 daily AF flights and 5 daily SU) or even Geneva (2 daily SU and one LX).

hm, the current wetlease is a Q400 of Augsburg Airways (LH regional), correct? If they move it to a new wetlease, does this mean the expect a RJ85 would be to big for the route (which might be correct ...)? Any idea about who will be the new wetlease holder and what type of plane they will use (bmi Embraer 145? a CRJ200 ?).

I find this really strange, why cut down frequencies? summer is high demand season, no?

Actually BRU is concidered a premium market heavy for business/governmental flyers... And that business is down in the summer... That's also the reason why IAD is downgraded to a 763 during the summer.

ok, i see...and looking at the fares, they really seem to focus on the premium market.
That's also the reason why IAD is downgraded to a 763 during the summer.
AFAIK, this route remains on T7 during summer
