Off topic but what is happening to that small jet in facility nr 2?
It seems as if it's been stripped off its CZAR paint, painted, and now is being painted again? Any info?
First SN Avro to be repainted

the change of dots has already been reported quite a while ago on these forums, I believe only 2 planes have 13 dots while all the others have 14?
I'll still miss the S-tail tho, it looked so good (especially on the avro) and I don't think the B-tail will ever be as classy as the S-tail. But nevertheless good luck to the new company and may they have a nice, long and bright future

Lengthy process?
Is it just me or it seems to take quite a while to paint that small jet?
When is it expected to roll-out?

Saw the plane yesterday afternoon at Pier B in BRU and just now as well as it is standing on Pier A in BRU. It looks indeed quite good. The "b" seems a bit small (if I am right it takes less room of the tail than it does with the A319s and 737s, i.e. more blue around it, probably due to the different form of the Avro tail), but we will get used to it very fast I guess.

What do you mean 'in the coming days'?tolipanebas wrote:Word has it SN's 4th A330 will arrive at BRU in the coming days, and although it is still painted in its basic Air Madrid colours, we shouldn't have to wait long before we see an A330 in the new colours.
Does the A/C first go to Sabena Technics for refurbishment and then to the repainting station, or vice versa?
And most important, when can we expect this bird to start flying for SN, and what destination will it serve?

For those missing the S-tail: I was rather surprised yesterday evening to see a small car, I think it was a Peugeot 106, in full Sabena livery!
Riding towards "Tours & Taxi" around 19hrs local. Auctioned off with all other assets and not yet repainted?
(yes, it's a bit off-topic, I know. but was this worth opening a new thread?)

In another thread it was mentioned that the aircraft would first fly for SN on an ad hoc basis, meaning charter flights, replacement of aircraft stuck in Africa or hit by a bird (or rabbit) strike. That can be done with the current configuration.Cartman wrote:Does the A/C first go to Sabena Technics for refurbishment and then to the repainting station, or vice versa?

The bird would fly for SN at the beginning of the next winter season. In the meantime, there is ample time to refurbish and repaint it.
