OO-THA B747-400ERF TNT Airways Update

Post by grnkg »

Hello,

Painting of the aircraft was completed yesterday.

Ferry flight SEA-LGG now scheduled on evening of 20 December, for arrival on the morning of 21 December.

Rumours are going that the aircraft will be inaugurated by prins Filip, and named "Elisabeth", the name of the prince's daughter.

In any case, a big event is planned at Liege.

Kind regards,
GR.

By all means I will keep you informed.
It is after all, something special for Belgian aviation.

On the other hand, and even though the manager responible for the introduction of this aircraft has his desk only meters away from mine,
it is kinda difficult to obtain accurate information.

As I previously wrote, the ferry flight is currently scheduled for departure at SEA on wednesday evening 20 december, with arrival on the early morning of Thursday 21 december. With sunrise currently at 08:30 local, there's a considerable chance that the aircraft will arrive before sunrise.
But I doubt that they will let this beauty fly in at LGG before dawn...

Kind regards,
GR.

OK guys, this comes straight from top level:

OO-THA arrives in Liege on
Thursday 21 December at noon

So she will arrive during daytime after all.
As soon as any ETA is released, I'll let you know.

Hope the weather will be better than today though...

Kind regards,
GR.

Hi all,

GR thanks for info, hope that ATD at SEA will be same as ETD and the WX will be nice, so landing process at LGG will be favorable for spotters.

Tempting... If work schedule and weather permits, you might spot me in da mighty Cessna a bit before scheduled arrival time of the nice lady and I'll follow her landing from the GA parking. :jumpy:
