A few shots of past weekend.
On Saturday tempo some disturbing radiation, like the A340 of Austrian shows.
1222LT, this A340-200 OE-LAG of Austrian was en route VIE-IAD.
1250LT, this A330-200 OE-LAM of Austrian was en route VIE-YYZ.
On Sunday no radiation and almost perfect conditions.
1211LT, this B747-400 4X-ELC of EL AL was en route TLV-LHR.
1225LT, this Globemaster of the RAF was presumable heading home.
1234LT, this A340-500 A6-ERD of Emirates was en route DXB-JFK.
1641LT, this sunlit A340-300 D-AIFF of Lufthansa was en route MUC-IAD.

Hi
Nice pics guys!
Since I repaired my binoculars I can start contrailspotting too again...(after an interruption of 3 months...).Very unfortunately I had to help moving Sunday , and it was a marvelous day for contrail spotting , I think I can say for myself that it was the best day in 2 years , for sure. In the begindays that I moved to Oevel , I noticed that the route FRA-USA was in only a couple of km to the north.(max 3) so very close and in perfect light...planes only 8km alt. max. often not even a contrail or a starting , very light contrail.
The route suddenly moved , to my great regret.
But sunday it looked like restored I saw the largest amount of lufthansa long haulers EVER. Here is a short (very short) list of what I've been able to reg in the weekend. (of course WITHOUT reg...)

Indeed wonderful, but really on the edge of getting such shots sharp due to the poor light.pipodeclown wrote:did you manage to make a picture of the AI 777 on Sunday eve? It was contrailing to BHX on the same route a few minutes behind the Dynastie 747 to MAN...
It was a wonderful sight in the setting sunlight...
Any suggestions on the regi? Thanks a lot.

Indeed poor conditions the last 7 days, but it should improve by tomorrow.pipodeclown wrote:weather is pretty overcast here, so impossible to see it passing overhead...
I have a webcam installed which gives an impression of the sky near Brussels Airport.

Hi again,
as could be seen on my webcam, on January 23 blue skies but not much interesting traffic at cruising levels.
Here a grip.
Showing differences in light circumstances:
-back light: good for the plane, in this case Emirates A6-ERI en route DXB-JFK
-opposite light: good for the contrail, in this case a returning A340-300 of Airlanka
1255LT, perhaps the most interesting: NG0087 OE-LAW en route VIE-JFK.
1555LT, I guess this must be an A319 of Qatar Airways heading for the UK.
And a bit lower, always nice to see an ole lady banking: N703CK heading for JFK.
