Today was Lufthansa's First Ever commercial flight to Madeira-Funchal.
An A320 flew from TXL, what a joy!

I didn't know easyJet were flying to Funchal, as seen in one of your pics. What about Ryanair?

No. Ryanair had wanted incentives available to bear the cost of certification of its pilots. The regional authorities considered this proposal unacceptable because this incentive has not been granted to any other company. Ryanair moved on, and went to the Algarve, to start a base there.

Easyjet does internal flights Madeira-Lisbon, and a few routes to the UK, some ex-GB Airways though those have been cut step by step (LGW).
