How many crews were on board for that flight?? I can imagine that they'd need at least two.

There's no possibility in finding a different hydraulic fluid that will prevent such corrosion?? I honestly don't know which would be easier, replacing the fluid, or inspecting each rudder.

When i was last in Houston a good friend was complaining that the price of gas had gone up over 2 bucks a gallon - I could only laugh!

The catch is that Americans typically have to travel farther, and our public transportation is a joke unless you're in a very large city.

But just too darn much thrust!
How dare you make such statements, there's no such thing as "too much thrust". It just makes the plane feel more like a rocket. :D

True that the ERJ performs much better then the CRJ.
You've got it flipped!! The CRJ is faster at .81/.82 vs. the ERJ at .78.

American Eagle is doing the same in replacing a lot of their turboprops with RJ's. I personally love the CRJ. It's fast and has a lot of payload compared to the ERJ. I've had many instances when an ERJ would be weight-restricted because it was underpowered (I'm only referring to the -135/40/45 serie...

From what I've heard, it smells like very badly rotten fish. Not very surprising, since that is in fact basically what it is.
I consider myself open-minded when it comes to food. I enjoy sushi, and other more exotic dishes, but rotten fish?? May I ask why?? :?

If I am not mistaken, don't some airlines operate their 777's in a 3x3x3 seating configuration?? If so, that eliminates the "double excuse me" seat in the 2x5x2 config. I personally prefer the 3x3x3, but the best seat in the house is in the flightdeck!

Perhaps it should have some delay so the pilot can respond to it before the system starts to change altitude by itself, I don't know how much time you normally have for things like that. I can imagine a message saying to the pilot 'I will change altitude to X in XX seconds, unless you disengage the...

NTSB has released an Airworthiness Directive for Airbus A300 series of aircraft. Just a side note, I thought it was the FAA not the NTSB who issues an Airworthiness Directive?? In which case, the FAA would have to accept the recommendations of the NTSB, meaning that nothing has to be done until the...

And frankly I do not want to rely on somebody's "decades of experience", such people tend to be cocky, and think they know everything and that they couldn't possibly be wrong. Ahh the stereotypical 1950's pilot. Yes, you are right in pinning down that generation. As most were former milit...

Do you really think the PIC can do much better decisions ?? History has told us that quite some collisions happened due to pilot error. So why not improve it by an automated system. Such systems have already been tested here in Holland (in cooperation with the TUDelft) as far as I know and the resu...

A properly designed computer system will perform better than a human, time after time. Name a computer system that can learn and grasp concepts. Unless you've got a computer that has AI, no system will out perform the diverse capabilities of the human brain, which is why the safety of flight should...

It is the PIC's duty to make decisions that regard the safety of the flight, if a computer makes the decision and makes a mistake, who do you blame!?...
