Just out of interest, when I checked amadeus it shows that Royal Wings currently have 3x weekly AMM-Alexandria/ALY (Egypt) flights with DH8 (DHC-8-300). From 31/10/05 the service becomes 5x weekly but with DH4s.... What is a DH4? I think it's a Dash DHC-8-400Q BUT Royal Wings only have DHC-8-300s an...

Lotus Air is a very good airline and making a come back following financial problems (after 9/11) resulting in their fleet being cut back significantly. Earlier this year they returned an A320 to ILFC which went to Chinese airlines, Spring Airlines. The A319 was leased to Helios for 6 months (before...

SV aircraft emergency landing at CAI

A Saudi Arabian Airline MD-90 has just landed in Cairo Airport after declaring a full emergency. Early reports suggest the pilot contact CAI's ATC and declared an emergency when the port-side engine caught fire in-flight. At the moment the aircraft is surrounded by fire crew at Cairo airport, and in...

Interesting they are increasing flights to Sharm el Sheikh. I guess people are not being intimidated by terrorists and are prepared to go back to the Egyptian resort that was recently hit by terrorist blasts. Captain. Minor correction, BA are not increasing SSH flights but GB Airways (a BA franchis...

You forgot to mention that Cairo (CAI) will be upgraded from B772 to B744. It seems BA are doing very well with Egypt.

As the Jetair/Jetonly arm of the airline is a LCC you won't find it on any online schedule.

Jetair and Hapag Lloyd are the only LCCs allowed to serve CAI on a scheduled basis.

TUI Belguim (Jetair)'s strange BRU-CAI flights

In May TUI belgium (Jetair) started 2x weekly scheduled flights from Brussels to Cairo. For the first few weeks of operations the flight routed BRU-CAI-LXR-CAI, but recently the airline has also been stopping in HRG and SSH on the return leg instead of at LXR. Now since this is a scheduled (not char...

TBSC, yes it was a bit of a shame the jumbos were retired but they were old and worn out and were packed with 450 seats when in full passenger configuration! They were referred to as the 'tourist workhourse' of the airline. They are stored at CAI at the moment. SU-GAM is stored without engines and i...

B744skipper, MS have no plans for a LCC. TCAS_climb, why does politics always have to be used as an explanation for when orders go to different manufacturer. I am not saying this order wasn't politically motivated but remember MS also have 5 B777s and 4 B735s (1 with 4D). Besides there are airlines ...

Fantastic news for MS, but how will this fit in with their fleet plans. Surely more A320s would have been more logical. I guess with local competitor, AMC Airline also opting for B738s, MS wanted to keep on par with them?

Anyone have more info
