Re: BRU Summer 2024: news, new routes, airlines

Got a message from SN today for a reschedule of a booked BRU-HAM flight later this year. According to our travel agency SN decreased the nr of daily flights from 3 to 2. Is this correct? Apologies if it was mentioned here before. Might have missed it. Or is it only an occasional change? (Operationa...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future

For sure the current drop off, remote taxi when you arrive, bus station, car rental is not like it should be. Good that at least the whole car rental will move to a whole new place. This will free up extra capacity for pax. The same for employees who can park in the near future in that new parking t...

Re: BRU Summer 2024: news, new routes, airlines

As Japan is officially in a recession, it will take them longer to increase the number of flights. That's not a reason it's a very small recession(it's not a crisis)you will not feel this in air transport to and from Japan! Don't be too optimistic about it. The whole Asia part is not recovered from...

Re: BRU Summer 2024: news, new routes, airlines

Thanks for sharing, Atlantis. Although these are not the exciting "exotic" things most of us are looking for, it's a very nice increase in number of movements for sure! I know, but for the big ones we still have to wait. Two should release soon and a third big one, not flying yet to BRU i...

Re: BRU Summer 2024: news, new routes, airlines

So SN will only have 3 destinations in UK? I remember the days it also served Belfast and Bristol. Too bad they are reducing so many destinations. I can get they can't fill the a320. They should get a220 or wetlease smaller aircraft like last year. (this is what I want, not the most profitable prob...

Some (quite) important frequency updates, based on July AIR ALGERIE • Cancels plans to increase from 4 to 6. AIR CANADA • Decreases Toronto from 5 to 4. BRUSSELS AIRLINES • Makes Birmingham winter-seasonal. • Decreases Copenhagen from 26 to 20. • Decreases Geneva from 27 to 20. • Decreases Stockhol...

Re: BRU Winter 2025 - 2026: news, new routes, airlines

There are also strong rumors that UA could open a new base in a hot region, with Florida often coming up in discussions. This could be interesting, and practically our only chance of getting a connection with this state in the future. Only time will tell. Maybe. It was tried many times in the past ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024

It's how the market works: these days companies don't have to choose much, it's a different story then 25 years ago. It''s a real crisis at this moment. Belgian pilots, mostly copilots, are leaving for other skies (major airlines, in the Middle East,...). Hiring new guys is difficult. Especially at...

Re: BRU Winter 2025 - 2026: news, new routes, airlines

Which government? Belgian? US? Canada? Will BRU become a UA base if they do BRU-BOS? Only Belgian and US. But it's more the US government who has to be convinced more. The Belgians said already yes. What do you mean with a UA base? You speak about a hub? There are other airports where UA offer more...

Re: BRU Winter 2025 - 2026: news, new routes, airlines

And all this from the convenience of a dedicated Star Alliance terminal, A pier (West)? ;) For the moment the B pier will be sufficient enough as there is a lot of space yet. Not all new long haul will start at the same moment, month or year. It will go gradually. But yes, I agree that with what we...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024

A destination we don’t talk too much on this forum is perhaps Helsinki. What could be the reason SN is not flying to this European capital city? I know it’s not a star airport but traffic, yields and transfer possibilities are not high enough to fly Helsinki for SN? Sometimes hard to understand to ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024

I don't know if there are unreliable but in the structure of the bigger airlines they don't fit because they have big slots problems and can't use them but the strength of Brussels Airport here is that there are no problem with slots and still a variety of transfer destinations and like sn26567 sai...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024

There are not disappearing but it's a niche market! And so you are saying that there are not cheaper to use on short flights? Niche market yes, but they are also disappearing. Lots of airlines got rid of their turboprops in the past few years. And others are busy in the process... The ATR is not ev...
