Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021

Yep. I'm afraid crew1990 is right; those who have experience elsewhere do not complain at all.

EDIT; that doesn't mean this should be the new standard... IMHO. Just saying.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021

Condition are not the same than Sabena times indeed but do you think Air France/Lufthansa etc still have the same working condition than 20 years ago? For pilots, yes. And sadly they managed to keep their conditions by doing what we all dislike. For cabin crew, no. But talking about unstable free-l...

Indeed they still didn't got the point that the glorious time aviation is now over. If they can't stand with it maybe they can do another job. Well actually, many did and came back... Not everywhere. In Belgium, for sure. But you can't blame them for their "fight" against poor cond...

It was actually a technical problem. For a medical issue, the aircraft would probably not have descended to a low altitude (6000ft).

There were 235 passengers on board, for both Douala and Yaounde. Alternative flights have been proposed.
Maybe. Perhaps. Probably.
Yep. All guesses.

Or an urgent medical problem.
When you don't know, why don't use your usual "reason unknown"?

Thunderstorms in the region
Good try, but not at all.
The heavy rain falling since yesterday morning in the area is not caused by cumulonimbus clouds/thunderstorms.

Diversions were caused by performance limitations due to standing water on the runway + crosswind.

Re: Impact of the coronavirus crisis on aviation

In all 7 recent flights that I took (to or from Belgium) since the end of May, I have been checked for vaccination or for a PCR test. I would like to know which airline allowed those young people on board without checking. In my view, it earns a red card. Blaming without knowing also deserves a red...

They use a wet-lease for the summer season, not anything close to taking delivery in their fleet.

Re: Belarus forces diversion to Minsk of Ryanair flight carrying a dissident in order to arrest him

It’s a huge problem and this mentality is Europe’s problem. Because the opposite is also true: if Europe says stop and national politics says ’nah’ you make Europe useless. Imagine France saying ’we don’t care Europe’ to protect the French relationship with the specific country. Which is why Americ...

Thx. It's not european ban, there are some national bans. I understand better. So national ban and european blah !
Well, the EU "suggests" and every EU country still has the right to make a decision.
I can't see anything wrong here, on the contrary.

B2 869 to BCN is circling yes, but B2 895 to WAW is entering...why a diference ? And B2 868 from AMS is flying...so, blah ?
I don't think Belavia is strictly denied access in the EU at this time?
Spain was probably pro-active and more restrictive than other EU countries in this case?

Their flight to BCN is circling at 34000ft near the border with Poland right now (still within Belarus airspace).

Re: Belarus forces diversion to Minsk of Ryanair flight carrying a dissident in order to arrest him

The initial statement of Ryanair, which did not mention the fact that two passengers were abducted, was very weak and caused an outrage among travellers and the press. This made Ryanair react (by fear of losing passengers who do not feel safe anymore on Ryanair flights) and finally condemn the air ...

Probably the least likely reason to squawk 7700 and divert, especially when the airport has other IFR approaches available & in such weather conditions.
