Would be nice to see some Longhaul carriers into BRU again... 8)
A previous official mission revealed the intention to reinstall regular air services between BRU and Japan. Any update / news / rumour in the meantime ?

There is a real tension between Rob Kuijpers and Etienne Davignon..

In other words a tension between the present and the future of SNBA far beyond and not limited to the relationship SN/TV. :teach:

So, till SNBA has not being sold, I think we don't have to expect a lot of this airline...but...when it will be sold, and it will ( watch 2006!!! ), then maybe some of our Brussels dreams can become reality. On the doorstep are waiting BA and AA ( many actual signs can predict this ) to buy SNBA; i...

Future Asian partners SNBA ?

I think after the nice deal with Etihad time has come for SNBA to find code share partners in the Far East and South East Asia. I wonder who (besides the already rumoured ANA) might be potential brides for which destinations ? :jump2:

Nothing concrete for the moment. Here are the most rumored partners for the moment: _Hainan Airlines: on the still waiting BRU-PEK route... _Etihad: but it would only be on the BRU-YYZ route, _Jet Airways: BRU-BOM route (but will 9W offering any connecting destinations :?: Apart some domestics rout...

I'm still a bit sceptic though. This story comes the same way as the one about the China link: from an economic mission to the country, with a politician stating we will have a new airlink. Still nothing's clearer about the Chinese one after all those months... I second that. We must be very carefu...

Re: 747 or 777

NH will come with 747's or 777's as they don't take any risk. That's why at this moment they're still flying with 747's to Europe at the moment. They rather fly on 4 engines then on 2 over Syberia. We were told this in the training Greetz Guess the 747 also has a higher cargo payload ? Might be an ...

According to this topic: https://www.aviation24.be/posts9374-start60.html they filed the request to fly BRU-NRT for BRU-NGO as well. It would be great to see BRU...

Doesn't look very good, even Tokyo , is not in the pipeline. If one Asian city should be served from BRU it must be Tokyo! It is a capital city for asia TYO not in the pipeline? Let's say that "an airline" will be increasing its flights between JP and EUR in 2006. BRU is one of the option...

SNBA to Japan ?

Indeed already many carriers go to NRT and competition would be too though. I guess KIX or NGO or even FUK might be good alternatives. Anyway SNBA will need a code share partnership with JL or NH. BRU with ist European hub and gateway to Africa might be a good opportunity for JL and NH.

Already a lot of carriers go to TYO. Competition would be very though. OSA and NGO might be good alternatives. Unfortunately SNBA is too small and the financial risk too high to start a regular schedule by itself. Anyhow SNBA will need a code share partner between Japan and BRU which should be JAL o...

I'm afraid SNBA cannot afford (yet) a membership of a big alliance. Finding code share partners for their long haul network might be a wiser option.
