Re: 2017 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
I wonder in case nobody would take over the flights, where all these pax will go (25 per leg, 900 per week). There are no flights to LCY from Brussels, and our 'great' NMBS' decided that (for budget reasons), the Eurostar will not stop in Antwerp Central Station. Hopefully they are working on a solu...

Re: 2017 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
Just called Cityjet directly. They confirmed ANR flights are being stopped as from the winter timetable, they will only keep Dublin - London. From Amsterdam they will still operate but in codesharing with KLM (today both of them fly 5 times a day on different hours). In the winter timetable, it will...

Re: 2017 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
I checked also bookings from Amsterdam, Avignon, Toulon and Florence to London City. None of them give flights in the winter schedule. Only Dublin London can be reserved. Reason can be two-fold: either they are still working on their winter timetable for all destinations (Cityjet in the past was alw...

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?
More and more I get the impression that the two applications are linked: one for the North, one for the South. If they give VLM first an AOC, then in theory they could start flying to China within a few months (if they can make their dreams in Maribor come through). But then they would take away a p...

I thought it was LX-N90450 Boeing E-3A Sentry.
Past over our offices, very noisy and smoky (I am sure they will get penalised by the Brussels Government)

Re: PowdAir, a new Sion-based airline with flights to a.o. Antwerp
To Convair: Thanks, appreciated. Please find below a link to an article (unfortunately in German) on a Swiss website, which indeed confirms some of 'passenger' remarks. Reading this article (published 1 day ago), it is clear that there is some link between the 2 companies, but nobody wishes to confi...

Re: PowdAir, a new Sion-based airline with flights to a.o. Antwerp
To Convair: Thanks, you are right, many tried and failed in Antwerp, that is the reality. And many times it had nothing to do with the airport itself, if you see for example how a very well organised & profitable airline as VLM was completely mismanaged and destroyed in a short time frame, then ...

Re: PowdAir, a new Sion-based airline with flights to a.o. Antwerp
Again I am surprised by the scepticism of the airline enthusiasts posting messages on this forum. Not so long ago, people were complaining about the lack of initiatives at Antwerp Airport, or were very negative about new VLM start-up plans, or were questioning the necessity of having E190s taking of...

Re: Strange twitter account about Antwerp airport take-offs
Apparently I did not make myself clear. I am not asking for B737-200s to come back, I am not asking for Ryanair to start flying at EBAW, I am not asking for 10 E190s taking off at 0630 every day, I am not blaming people that bought a house around the airport and started complaining, I am not asking ...

Re: Strange twitter account about Antwerp airport take-offs
To DIBO: 1. I thought that discussions on professional forums like 'luchtzak.be' would remain civilised and not insulting. Calling me stupid, an ostrich or being shortsighted is therefore inappropriate 2. You may have followed EBAW for 45 years, so did I. And I have seen a gradual change of the peop...

Re: Strange twitter account about Antwerp airport take-offs
So DIBO, and because of 1 (ONE) tweeter, you conclude that airport authorities/ATC/EBAW aircrew are careless and not following procedures. EBAW has been bashed for too long by green and socialist parties, there are already too many 'rules' in this country, to the extent that nothing, but nothing is ...

Re: VLM Airlines news 2017
You will see, AOC for VLM will be granted around the same tining as the AOC for Air Belgium, since they target the same market (China). This is how it works in Belgium (balance between North and South). I am not sure which company is 'behind' in submitting the correct documents to the Directorate. B...

Re: 2017 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
To: DIBO I fully agree with you. Clearly there is not much 'customer' focus on ANR, the parkings are closed, the public transport facilities are poor (not even a covered busstop to hide from the rain) and outside & inside signage for Departures / Arrivals is not cleary visible. I hear that the g...

Re: Thomas Cook Airlines Belgium in 2017
Sorry, pushed the wrong button. Just wanted to react to 'lumumba' with his remark to close ANR. This is exactly what the (small) anti-group wants to achieve: that even aviation lovers start to take about closing the airport. I am not going to repeat that the airport was there first, we have to consi...

Re: VLM Airlines news 2016
I am always surprised by the many negative comments people post on these forums. If I read all the reactions on the new VLM, I must conclude that the new company does not stand a chance to survive (or even start). And then I wonder how many of these 'critics' have the experience of setting-up an air...

Re: 2016 Antwerp airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
Thanks 'Passenger'. It was not my intention to suggest you are not pro-aviation. But the fact is that ANR is open from 06.30 to 23.00, Egis or the airport authorities strictly follow the law. As I mentioned before, what if tomorrow another operator starts flying with an EMB170 or similar for a new (...

To: FLYAIR10/Saratoga/Koja78/SLM Thank you for your understanding and support To: Passenger Thanks for your comments, I am fully aware about their strategy and their relentless attempts to attack the airport, using sometimes very 'questionable' methods (the majority of the registered complaints were...

Re: 2016 Antwerp airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
I am getting more and more surprised (and frustrated) with the comments on this topic. For years, the green and socialist parties have been shouting to close the airport, because it was not profitable. Now we finally get some traffic on ANR, and now they (and some of you) are complaining that we sho...

Re: 2016 Antwerp airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
Plse read info on Cityjet website correctly. One (1) flight per day will be operating to/from Southend, other flights will continue to operate to/from London City. And all back to normal as from 1st July, meaning all flights to/from LCY. Thx
