Re: Airbus to suspend production of A400M
to the webmaster: can you change the title please? There is no mentoning in the article about a suspension of the A400 programm. My posting about the overrun at Lanzarote was also corrected. Might want to actually read the article! " France's Les Echos newspaper reported on Tuesday that EADS h...

Airbus to suspend production of A400M
Not a surprising move by Airbus, considering the losses they have already incurred.

Re: Alitalia: the end is near
The end may truly be near after failing to negotiate a deal with the Union's, all this may have been an exercise in futility.

Re: Global Credit Crunch - Possible Effects
As bad as things seem now, they're only going to get worse.
OPEC has announced they will decrease production and that will probably stop the fall of the oil price.
hopefully it's a stop and not a rebound.
And more bad news: http://startelegram.typepad.com/sky_tal ... rop-i.html

Re: With oil prices down, why aren't airfares?
Also airlines hedge or contract fuel prices, sometimes up to a year or more. If BA hedged their price at say € 3.00 per gallon and the price goes up, they pay €3.00 and on the flip side if the prices drop to €2.50 per gallon, they still pay €3.00 per gallon. It's a contract good or bad, some airline...

Re: No end in sight to Boeing strike
Being located fairly close to Boeing's facilities I am fortunate to have the ability to hear the intricacy's of whats going on with the labour dispute. 1. This is going to be a very long strike, Boeing has learned a hard lesson from the failure of the Auto Industry and its unions, and that lesson is...

Re: Sigh..... things are not as interesting now
Well I think everyone will have to wait for a while until the financial disaster sorts itself out. You couldn't buy a loan for aircraft right now, never mind applying for one. I think there is going to be some massive failures in the Industry in the next year accompanied by a huge drop in air travel...

Re: A400M threatened by delivery compensation
Just an opinion but not nearly as costly as proceeding. EADS/Airbus should graciously announce that the problems facing the A400M are insurmountable economically, and the company and it's customers would be better served if the project was canceled, of course compensation would be required but I thi...

Re: U.S. Airforce Tanker
The D.O.D. statement announcing the cancellation of the re-bid process, so it's all over and done. The new Administration of Obama or McCain will have to deal with a totally new proposal process. The Air Force and the D.O.D. better have all their ducks in row this time, or there will be some serious...
