Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2023
Anyone knows why the SN flight BRU FIH diverted to Lomé this evening ? https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/sn357 Refuelling They were denied Gabon airspace access. SFX night-stopped in FIH as a result. Normally SFX has a good 11 hours endurance with full load (which was far from being the ca...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
No LBV (difficult to tag it on with another destination), WDH (EW territory, VFR and leisure) ou Southern destinations (EK and QR are too powerful). If extra flights to AFI are being considered it will only be Nigeria destinations (LOS/ABV even Kano). Lufthansa board has recently expressed there is ...

Re: Closure of Niger airspace following coup d'état.
Africa is really a challenging continent for airlines. You need the Brussels Airlines experience (inherited from Sabena) to find your way in all circumstances. With all due respect, André, I almost choked with laughter reading these statements  . It's been a long time since SN has been the &qu...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
From what I heard today, this was a double factor, APU not working but the aircraft was supposed to be connected to the Pre-Conditioned Air (PCA) systems of Madrid Airport wich wasn't working neither. This is what we call bad luck, hopefully there will be some learning from this incident. These thi...

Re: BRU Winter 2023-2024: news, new routes, airlines
CAA from Congo is eying to launch flights FIH to CDG/BRU by december 2023. :o They've received their second A333 coming from China Airlines. This one is not 9Q registered but 9H (Malta) as HiFly Malta will operate it on their behalf. 9H-HFI to be precise. This might explain that. They're looking to h...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
I highly doubt they would terminate JFK during the IATA winter season. JFK is an important feeder for many AFI destinations, and EWR won't be enough to cover the NY area (UA). OTOH, Washington - IAD is more an overlap concern, since it's an historical UAL route. Considering UA's strong postions with...

Re: Air Belgium in 2022
Air Belgium has tried (again) to initiate the idea of launching FIH ops but they face too many hurdles coming from the Federal State that clearly protects SN. Although bilateral DRC/Belgium would allow them to open the route. But this would deprive SN of some of its current lucrative frequencies. No ...

Re: BRU Summer 2023: news, new routes, airlines
Given the fact this destination was not in the network for a couple of year we can also call it "new" destination. This is the way brussels airlines and luchtzak call it it the press release as well. We are used to these PR stunts for years with SN and and their "new destinations&quo...

Re: Air Belgium in 2022
I fear the end is nearing. Walloon Govt is in deep financial turmoil, they won't inject money anytime soon. Difficult to justify that nowadays. Air Belgium should have followed HiFly's business plan and profile. They were good at ACMI operations, and they're good as cargo company. All the regular pa...

Re: Strikes affecting Belgian airports in 2022
All in all, ahead of a busy summer, a good bunch of strikes is well deserved for some of the Brussels Airport companies (Brussels Airlines included). They treated people (employees) like under-humans, the payback is on the way. At least, passengers were warned well in advance. Avoid Brussels Airlin...

Re: Strikes affecting Belgian airports in 2022
Why do french speaking Belgians always have the idea others have to adjust to their language? Is it that hard to bring up the respect of learning and speaking dutch?? Why does Brussels Airport use the city of Brussels for its branding and marketing then ? As far as I know, only 5 to 7 percents of B...

Re: Air Belgium in 2022
What is the crazy reason for registering Belgian freighters in the Austrian Registry? ASL Airlines Belgium does it as well. DGTA in Belgium is very slow (see the start of AB/KF) Why do you think most of the planes, gliders are registred in other countries ? Fast, no additionnal stupid questions.......
