Re: Impact of the coronavirus crisis on aviation

Passenger wrote: 29 Jul 2020, 17:03 Airlines should avoid such incidents to avoid a full flight ban.
Absolutely correct, last week I flew with Brussels Airlines: no APU during boarding and packs off so no air conditioning for take off.
It looks like airlines don’t care about their passengers health.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

At present capital markets are locked for airlines, so public funds are the only funds available to them; if the corona pandemic gets wiped out, that will not be the case in 2 or 3 years. The capital markets have been locked for SN for many years, did you forget how Luftie had to provide a 100 mill...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

A refund with tax money is quite ironic seeing that we've all collectively paid for it  Mr Decroo was quite clear in parliament: SN was in negative equity, in other words: virtually bankrupt. It’s the refusal to refund bookings which kept them alive till today and as such it’s only normal tha...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

SN never realy got a fair chance fighting for its reason to excist. Now you might claim other airlines were hit by the same crises as SN (apart from the 2016 attacks) but overall most other airlines got the time and opportunity to grow or get stable at times when SN was struggling from Sabena's ban...

However, there is also talks to get loans with state support, all these loans will have to be repaid in due time. In order to pay back the loans, it is crucial that the company still exists in a few years and that it is profitable, hence the important of the restructuring plan. For almost 20 years ...

Re: BRU Winter 2020-2021: news, new routes, airlines

Sorry to burst your bubble and your convenient calculations, but the block time of BRU-MRU is 11h50 and check-in times for a long haul flight are traditionally at least 60 minutes. That makes a rest time of at least 12h50 which start 30 minutes after arrival and would make it impossible to operate ...

, rest time will not be less than the longer of the previous flight duty time or twelve hours. As such, it would never be feasible for the outbound crew to fly straight back with this schedule, even taking 'minimum rest' into account. The 12 hours is at home base, it becomes 10 hours away from base...

Re: Impact of the coronavirus crisis on aviation

Reasons to reintroduce a basic aerial connectivity are numerous, and not just to support airlines. Absolutely correct, BUT apply social distancing on board ...

I read an article about one example in a plane where they had the proof that one person can contaminate about 30 other person. Only if they work here and are residents in Greece (or the opposite). No VFR nor tourism, all arrivals in BRU are terminal B and if you don’t have a valid reason you’ll be denied entrance.

Yes it is and that's why it is so confusing for airlines if they can or not, bcs Europe is completely not clear in this. If SN remains in the LH Group, LH could accept the EU Commission's and transfer some flights operating from/to FRA/MUC to SN and OS :) (I'm already expecting someone to stay that this is too simplistic).
