Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
Hello everybody, I will fly BRU - LIS on Monday (STD 1845) and I have a little question about the "Kiss & ride" inside the car parks. How does it work :?: Is there a dedicated part of the car park where cars dropping / picking up people can stop or drivers have to find an available pl...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
What the new K&R should be, if it ever returns, it two through lanes with minimal parking space. One for taxi's and tour operator busses to drop off passengers and one for regular cars dropping of passengers. This system is way more managable for the police then the old system which was chaotic...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
Flew out of BRU, last Thursday, for the first time since March 21 (my last flight into BRU).. Very very sad impression. The whole atmo. Is negative. From the horrendous check point .. To everything. It took me exactly 30 min from car park 3 to hand luggage security at the connector.. Thursday 6 pm....

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
Well, I Am fulminating. At least sitting in the BA business lounge. I am allowed 60 kg of luggage, but limited myself for once (because of Brussels Airport) to 40 kgs plus my cabin bag. A female police officer spotted me from far and with her arm made it clear I should go through the metal detector ...

Re: Belgocontrol ATC strikes 2016
I don't want to discuss with you on your one time experience of how crews are or what they do for their salaries, but here's my view of your story. In this case..... No shockcooling, you clearly missed the point with your "one time experience" As I mentioned "having worked 10 years f...

Re: Belgocontrol ATC strikes 2016
... I was dead-heading as an IT manager from BKK and we had a dead-heading crew on board. After landing at home base the captain of the DH crew told them: don't forget to mention 24h "on duty" (they boarded at HKG), yeah, reading books and having stupid discussions with me: "where to...

Re: Belgocontrol ATC strikes 2016
And btw, the ATCs deserve every penny of their "royal" salaries, just like pilots or other professions not everybody can qualify for. Not everybody has the abilities to become an ATC or a pilot. Being jealous of that is just being stupidly jealous ! Not knowing about ATC's but having work...

Re: Strikes affecting Belgian airports in 2016
Well for September and later 2016 I have booked 2 BKK-AMS tickets. Also for September a BRU-LHR-YUL return, unfortunately, can't change. And 29 may a BRU-BKK, I really consider departing from CDG QR40 and QR836 2x A380 (booked on QR836 anyway) although QR B787 ex BRU in J is very nice... I don't wan...

Re: Airbus A380 news
I am rather unhappy Qatar Airways reduces it's 3x daily A380's to BKK as of september.
I had 4 legs to/from BKK second half 2016, replaced by their new B777/300 in 2-2-2 and 3-4-3 config.
Seems QR will use the A380 to Sidney.
Qr will fly 4 daily B777 and a fift from december on I read somewhere.

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
If I understand this right bringing pax must go via P1 and picking them up via P2, no free access? A friend left BRU a few days ago and mentioned there is a sing at the entrance of P1 stating 1 minute to 1 hour 5 Euro, nice thought, thank you BRU Airport. Oh, and don't tell me it's not their problem...

Even the head of the National Bank is calling to use AMS instead of BRU because of the prechecks http://www.hln.be/hln/nl/32616/Terreurdreiging-in-Belgie/article/detail/2693862/2016/05/03/Directeur-Nationale-Bank-roept-op-tot-boycot-Brussels-Airport-Geen-service-iedereen-naar-Amsterdam.dhtml :( she...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
I am not a frequent flyer but BRU is my secondary main hub, UTH is my home base. I have a September BRU-LHR-YUL return booked and a BRU-BKK for late may. For the remaining part of 2016 I booked BKK-AMS-BKK-AMS-BKK. Although my Belgian safe house is only 25kms from BRU I will not book any more BRU fl...

It should be all, or no one. Anything else is unacceptable.
Took the Israelis many years to do it right, it is a huge investment in people and means.

I sent a nice long mail to Jan Adam, I guess anything might help to have these people come to their senses.

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
And this is surely the quote of the year: Marc Descheemaecker, Voorzitter Raad van Bestuur bij The Brussels Airport Company, on his FB-page: Damn .... 40 days work day and night to keep the reopening of the airport and a few stiff heads of the police unions stuck to that silly pre check-in system. ...

I arrived yesterday (Saturday 30 April) and was picked up by friends I called by mobile once I got to the P2 parking paying machines next to the Sheraton, friend called me when they were waiting for me at level 6, by the time I got up there and drove out of P2 had to pay 3.5 euros at a machine at th...

Well I will arrive Saturday around 14.00, will have 2 big almost empty bags, btw I am not that young anymore to shuffle with bags... Considered taking bus 830, but read yesterday that as of today 25th April I would need to take any bus at pier B to KORENVELD (wherever that is) and switch to 830 ther...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
Left home at 09h30 today (Leuven) and in the BA lounge at 10h45. Agree it is not a nice experience at the moment, but can not say it is taking a lot of time, on the contrary. 10 min at the first check, smooth afterwards. Did not check anybags, that would have added probably another 15 to 30 min. Ho...

Re: Belgocontrol ATC strike from 22 April 2016
In my younger years I traveled to CDG and FRA to catch some long haul planes.
I still can do that once BRU is no more.
And no, I don't drive the 600 km to BKK, still have 14 daily flights UTH-BKK to choose from, much doubt about BRU though
