More expensive? Yes and no
Yes if you buy a long time before the flight.
No if you book last minute fe. Next Monday and return on Tuesday. Let's take the afternoon flights: KLM 620 EUR (basic fare) and with Air Antwerp only 264 EUR (economy).

Re: Air Antwerp, a new airline from Antwerp Deurne airport
I must admit that I have never followed closely the unfortunate "adventures" of VLM, because I never need to fly from or to ANR. Perhaps VLM did it or did not, but it would seem obvious to me that if you only have an average load of around 50%, you would look for a partner airline (BA ?) ...

Re: Air Antwerp, a new airline from Deurne ?
It seems they will use ICAO code 'ATW' and callsign 'Devil' for their flights.

Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
I think 3 months is the minimum they need to reply to an AOC request. Was reading somewhere they were hoping to get their AOC in August and start selling tickets soon afterwards. August would be about 3 months after they announced their plans... Btw June is finally showing rising passenger number ag...

Re: Air Antwerp, a new airline from Deurne ?
Great news and the best thing is that KLM is involved. KLM will know what destinations are selling well from Belgium: Antwerp (Thalys) and from BRU airport via AMS. ZRH and LCY seem to be logical choices. They were working very well before the last bankruptcy. At the moment I see this partnership as...

4 airplanes? More like 2: one to LCY and one to GVA. Other destination will be middle of the day operations with same planes. Luxemburg? Destination is GVA, but will make a stop in LUX on the way and try to sell some tickets. BTW they are very responsive when you contact them with some constructive ...

Re: 2018 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
The Green party has nothing to say. They are cowards and too scared to get involved with real politics. Sticking to your own principles makes this come to a standstill. BTW the city has nothing to say about what is happening at the airport. It is the responsibility of the Flemish government ...

ANR to HAM in 1h20, to NCE in 1h50... simply not possible with an ATR72. Saab 2000 maybe? I hope it will be a real airline and not a new startup virtual carrier to operate the LCY. Close to full indeed, but still less than on other destinations and at low prices... so my guess is that it was not making much money.
Btw still room available in the schedule from ANR on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday... one more destination to be announced?

The flylanova project seems to be delayed and still under development. Start date for Antwerp operation now showing as beginning of summer season 2019. It also seems they have a bigger interest in Antwerp since VLM stopped the operations. I wonder if they are one of the bidders for some parts of VLM...

Re: VLM (SHS Antwerp Aviation) news 2018
There are more interested companies in SHS/VLM Antwerp than expected. From an initial 15 there remain about 10 now. This is why the liquidators have not made a decision on a deal yet. They will organise a bidding in the first two weeks of October. Both Belgian and British companies are expected to m...
