Re: BRU winter 2010-2011: latest news, routes, airlines

So in fact it's two different legs: a leg Bern - Brussels and a leg Brussels - Angers. Can't imagine anyone wants to fly between Bern and Angers with a stopover in Brussels, which is over twice the distance of a direct flight. But anyhow it will be nice to see a new airline in Brussels.

Nice picture indeed. Is it taken then from the sandy area just west of the soccer fields ? Or is there another (more hidden) location ?

Re: BRU 10/09/2010

Hi,

I saw the CO flight departing at 3pm, while it should have left at 10am, why was that ?

And what's with that A310 PacificFlier standing near Melsbroek ?

Re: BRU 08/09/2010

Thanks for your answer, but why would that be the reason the plane departing from rw02 ? Or are these regulations possibly time or weight-dependant, so that rw25R cannot be used by some airlines during some times or when the plane is heavily loaded ? And these obstacles, are these only near-field, o...

Re: BRU 08/09/2010

Rumour has it that American planes occasionally choose for 02 instead of 25R because of obstacle clearance regulations applicable to american airplanes. Probably minor differences between FAA and JAA regulations that determine whether a take-off can be made within regulatory limits or not. Best reg...

UA973 just took off from rw02, all other planes took off from rw25R, why would that be ?

Don't the African flights depart from pier A ?

It seems rw 07L is in use for landings and 07R for take-offs.

Re: No fly-zones above Belgium

Does the term no fly-zone only applies for (relatively) low overflying planes or also for planes at cruising altitude (>30k ft) ?

Could you check the list to see if Mol-Dessel is on it ?

No fly-zones above Belgium

Hi, As an inhabitant of the Antwerpse Kempen (region Mol), I noticed that the flights into BRU coming from the north (CPH, RIX, HEL, ARN) do not follow the easiest route (Eindhoven - Mol - Westerlo - Aarschot) but often make a broad turn around the Mol region, and so rather follow the path Turnhout ...

Re: BRU 29/08/2010

What's the reason airlines switch to much bigger planes (fe 32x --> 343) when flying to BRU ? See also TK or AT sometimes. Is it due to large pax demands or because of special occasions ?

Isn't that the case every sunday ?

Edit 10.24: the normal 25R for take-offs now, 25R/L landings.

El Al at BRU

As a relatively new aviation enthusiast and BRU spotter, I've noticed at BRU that both incoming and outgoing flights of El Al are accompanied by an airport security car, a police car and a fire truck. This is undoubtedly for security reasons, but what can these 3 vehicles do in case of an emergency ...

I was there today as well. First time since a long long time.
Approaches on 25L and R in the forenoon and later only on 25R.
An AA757 took off from 25L in the forenoon, why was that ?
