Re: Accident Airbus A340 of Turkish Airlines @ Brussels Airp
I live underneath the approach for 20 too, and I'm pretty sure I didn't see an A340 passing between 9 and 11 o' clock. I did however see one passing over Kampenhout Sas (when seen from my point of view). An aircraft passing there can be for 25L or 25R, when seen from my home. So unless the replaceme...

Re: Accident Airbus A340 of Turkish Airlines @ Brussels Airp
They did indeed (try) to put her down on 25L, not 20.

Re: 21/10: plane over Aarschot escorted by 2 F-16
It was a C-130, not a large passenger jet ;-) I don't know why, but over Kampenhout they were in approach for 25R, and they were well below glideslope, all three of 'em. From my point of view, the sun was almost directly behind the planes, so I couldn't tell if they were "our" planes or no...

Sabena Flight Academy (SFA) Open house - October 23rd 2010
Anybody over here going to the SFA open house on October 23rd? There was a "contest" where you could win an hour in a Full Flight Simulator. Today I had a mail regarding the subject, declaring I won an hour in the Airbus A330 simulator. Couldn't be happier right now ( well, I could, if it ...

Re: belgian air force airbus 330 - aanvraag tot rondvlucht
There just might be one way to get a trip on the A330.... Two years ago I signed in for "Fly to your dream", an event where being a Pilot in Comopsair (Belgian Air Component) is promoted. This event took place on a day where a training flight with the A310 (escorted by F-16's) was planned....

Re: BRU 19/09/2010
Noisy and 4 engines, makes me thing about a 707. Perhaps a NATO 707 then.
Those don't show up on the website, but they do occasionally visit BRU.

Re: BRU 11/09/2010
You can always check the Cargo arrivals and departures on the site yourself:
http://www.brusselsairport.be/brucargo/arrivals
http://www.brusselsairport.be/brucargo/departures
I don't remember a day where it wasn't correct (in terms of aircrafts actually being there, the timetable is often wrong.)

Re: BRU 30/08/2010
I use http://www.radarvirtuel.com, and I set : Arrival airport code -> BRU I also use http://www.acarsd.org/acars_search.html, and I set : Route contains -> BRU or EBBR Hope it has answered you question. Thanks a lot, that actually helped quite well. I also know some people who work at BRU, but ask...

This question may have been answered before, but still...
Where do you guys get your info on these flights? BRU has it's own website of course, but getting info over there is, let's say, quite cumbersome...

Re: Spotting at Ramstein
Do you think a 500mm lens on a full frame sensor is too much? Also, did you take a scanner there? I heard a lot of contradictory stuff about German Polizei searching cars for scanners? Which runway is mainly in use, and is there a parking opportunity close to it? And, the last thing I can think of n...

Re: BRU 29/08/2010
It landed on 25L 5 minutes ahead of schedule.
Departure was, as is the case just about always, on 25R. Departure was about 15-20 minutes late.

Yeah, I already read those, and just about anything I could find on the scramble community pages.
But still, that ain't that much.... I'm looking for actual experiences by people who've already been there.

Spotting at Ramstein
Within a few weeks, I'll be going to Ramstein AFB, and I was wondering if anyone has some hints about spotting there? I know about hotel Atlantis already, but since they don't have a double room with a view on the airport, that's kind of a no go for me. I'll be traveling with my girlfriend, so a dou...
