Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
not sure how long OS will keep that service as they're also in Reboot now... little by little complimentary inflight service will dissapear while pushing flexibility and priority boarding forward (exactly like the LCC are offering already) The most profitable airline group in Europe (IAG, in case s...

Which shouldn't have come as a complete surprise, Flex&Fast has been on sale excluding complimentary catering since July (so even before the Reboot plan) for flights as from this winter season.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
Can you then explain that SN is still not mentionned as STAR Member ? That's simply a mistake (unless it talks about something Star Alliance related not used/offered by/applicable to SN - I don't see the full page/ad), nothing to do with SN being part of whatever in the LHG corporate structure. SN'...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
For the stupid picture complaints, the Q3 report itself (the pdf) and the PowerPoint presentation of the Q3 Analyst and Investor Conference Call has a new picture where the SN tail has been added. They just didn't replace the rest. For the rest of the segmentation it's not finalized in detail yet be...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
Next Thursday is November 7th . What a nice touch to pick that date and not a day before or after. Why? On 7th Nov 2001, Sabena was declared bankrupt. 7/11 is the end of the 'silence period' and publication of the LHG 3rd interim report 2019 (JAN-SEPT) - that's the primary reason. As from tha...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
Besides being the most recent A320 to join SN's fleet, OO-SNN is also effectively the youngest A320 in the fleet (9 years younger than OO-SNA) and owned by LHG contrary to most others in SN's A32F fleet. Two factors which are quite certainly more important than the livery... In case SN has an excess...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
What a nonsense discussion. The principal language within the company is English, just like it is the most aviation companies. As required by law, labour agreements / contracts are made up in Dutch, French, English, German, etc. Most of the employees speak the 3 main languages quite fluently. As yo...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
Last evening, according to Flightstats.com, Golf has been replaced by Delta on the Abidjan service of today. But 3 hours later as SFD was put on the JFK service, she was replaced by Foxtrot for OUA/ABJ. But because Foxtrot had been planned for Dakar, it is OO-SFK that was put on line for this SN205...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
The question is what will happen with the Belgian activities, after all it's not because TC goes bankrupt that the market is gone. Will they be taken over? - Yes: completely, partly, will they take over the SN contract or develop something new, contract another airline, ... - No: other tour-operator...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
I'm rather astonished to see the little reactions regarding Thomas Cook / Neckermann future financial woes... and possible bankruptcy. This will for sure greatly impact SN's financials and its operations. They have adapted their A32F fleet capacity in accordance to the Thomas Cook take-over. If Tho...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
Pretty lame strategy if you ask me... SN needs investments to grow, not the least on the one market that kept them afloat for many years. Imho the issue is not that SN gets (fairly recent) second hand aircraft, but the fact that LH first expects a big return on investment before investing in the co...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
Bcs you are convinced that SN still will get planes from LH. SN will get planes from LH if it has the financial performance to justify growth and/or fleet renewal. That's what I'm saying. In other words, at this moment: no. CS is also not a favorite of OS and has to show him also better results, bu...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
The decision of LH to replace old A330 by newer second hand A330 was long time ago taken. Now the situation is completely different... Oh yes the situation changed, the decision was taken end 2016/early 2017, since then the (structural) financial performance of SN only got worse. And not for reason...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
There is a lot of criticism on SN which I understand, but 1 thing I really don't get, why everyone is so obsessed with the leisure network. The 2 simply complement each other with the very big majority of the flights being operated in off-peak times and periods for feeding and business traffic. Sure...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
According to CS you have to make a profit first before you are entitled to new investments. Remember ? So far for the level playing field and for those who still believe what the guy says. Just a few remarks: - These A333's are (profitably) operated by SN under ACMI and contribute to a future more ...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU): Star Alliance, Oneworld and Skyteam under one roof?
Flights coming from those so called one-stop-security countries allow transfer pax to go directly back up to the departures level of Pier B (so no security or passport check), if you connect onwards to non-Schengen you either just stay in Pier B or take the B to T bus transfer to T zone. Otherwise y...

Re: Boeing 737 (MAX) news
Boeing 737-8200 wil mean the 200 seat variant of the Boeing 737-8 MAX for Ryanair only Quite surprising that Southwest hasn't bought any yet... Because Southwest simply doesn't have very high density cabins. They are single class and with slim seats etc, but aside from that they are roomier in seat...

Re: BRU Winter 2019-2020: news, new routes, airlines
Now that the EW episode is over (hopefully for good), ... And, btw, any financial/traffic figures released recently? The June and H1 traffic figures for the LH Group were published today. Brussels Airlines is still considered as part of the Eurowings Group and thus not allowed to publish its own tr...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
If there were now 3 to 5 large Belgian investors who put 200 million on the table to buy back Brussels Airlines from Lufthansa, I think CS would soon sell his "lossmaking" subsidiary. What do you think? Why would they put 200 million on the table when they got only 2 million to sell 55% o...
