Re: 747-8 Progress
The ultimate issue for the nose loading is whether or not it is value for money, when perhaps 80% plus of all cargo will fit in the side door, and apart from very long loads, is much more versatile. This makes -400 conversions a serious threat to the 748F, which incidentally has not had too many or...

That's correctearthman wrote: So I suppose the nose door is more useful for ridiculously long items, otherwise you can squeeze larger things trough the side door than through the front.

Re: Cargo B Tailstrike
Why on earth would it be illegal to show the picture of an aircraft that has been abused ? It's not good for the image and reputation of CargoB, agreed. But it's a bit like those airlines who hide their name on a crashed aircraft ... not very helpful ! To explain why these photo's are most likely i...

Re: 747-8 Progress
The 747-8 Freighter is the only large (front-loading, outsize) commercial freighter available. I beleive that the market will ultimately be fairly large, even with competion from converted, ex-passenger 747-400's. The only one??? Give the AN124 an AN225 some credit!!! The are available for ad...

Re: 747-8 Progress
To be correct the max nose-load cap of an 747F is 240cm height with a few cm to spare. The max load cap thrue side door is 300cm height with a few cm to spare. But with width limitations for the top span as the plane has a oval hull. This still makes it possible to load some quite impresive cargo 8-)

Re: Cargo B Tailstrike
My thought:
Cargo B is quite lucky that it happend with CBA in stead of CBB. The last one just returned from its D-check. Would be the most inconvenient time to have an incident like this IMHO.
Ps: CBB was charterd for a flight but since it had to fly the route of CBA the freight got trucked to LGG.

Re: Aviapartner strike
As an employe of AP I can tell that there has been sufficiant notification to the management about too high work presure. But after months there are still no changes made to do anything about it. The management even hired a consulting group to investigate where there are to many people. And ...
