It looks like Bernard Gustin has time to spare. Being AEA chairman is a nice thing to have on your CV.

Re: Korongo Airlines
The silence around Korongo says it all... 3 aircraft to serve a 8 weekly and twice weekly route respectively...advertised as a promotion at 299 usd... what a luxury  Fortunately for Korongo, their planes don't have to fly too much because LTM doesn't like to fly  Let's not even talk...

Re: brussels airlines to New York!
It's not as efficient but it's possible and 100% compatible. You can also combine with pallets that you shape accordingly to use the space efficiently. The holds don't always travel full full. If you take aircraft like the 330-300, you usually have some empty spots. What better than to fill them wit...

Re: brussels airlines to New York!
Keep making yourself ridiculous.
The A330 and A320 have compatible containers, the -46's.
Several SN aircraft have the locks and rollers if my memory is good.
Not all of them are bulk.

Re: brussels airlines to New York!
you can't load the A330 LD3 containers on an A320  A319/320 aircraft from SN are not ready to load ULD's, only bulkload. Who spreads these myths? SN's a319/A320 are LD3 ready, the capability isn't just used and they put net supports instead to hold the bulk. On the floor you have locks.

Re: BREAKING: Shootout at Brussels Airport
Forgive me but the last thing you'd want is police running in and leading to a hostage or a real shootout situation. This isn't Hollywood and John Mclane isn't around to save the day. What's 200k euro's of stolen drug money, next to a person's life? Drive 5 kilometers towards downtown Brussels and y...

Re: Jet Airways cancels BRU-JFK from September 2012!
The 77W can indeed do it, but with payload restrictions on both sectors (much like EK's 77W doing the DXB-LAX-DXB rotation) therefore hurting operational exonomics. Which leads to, as LJ said, that it probably won't be economically viable. Barely any payload restrictions. Without exceptional winds ...

However economically probably not viable (as most of the ULH flights). The B77W can do it too. Check your range, Gimli G...

Re: Jet Airways cancels BRU-JFK from September 2012!
SFO seems most likely, ORD and IAD are already served by UA, and the for the IT sector in India, SFO also seems like the logical choice (then again, isn't SFO doable with a direct flight from India?). As for the cancelling of BRU-JFK-BRU, I can't say I'm very surprised, I do expect to see them code...

Re: brussels airlines to New York!
I wouldn't call it a good result. If LF is 70% in July, it means LF is about 55% in June and August. I would rather call it dramatic, especially for June. A trans Atlantic wide body with a 55% LF is quiet worrying and can not be profitable. And if you know at what prices they have sold certain seat...

Again I'm happy that someone working for SN, is actively on this forum to respond in a proper way. On the other hand, I find it a waste of resources as indicated by the following post. They tried the famous Greek Cure...austerity,sometimes,when you go to the B Terminal, you cannot find any Bruair St...

Re: brussels airlines to New York!
Why am I not surprised. In SN's defence, it could be that some of the routes have limited quota's of feeding available or that it's a prior agreement with UA that SN isn't supposed to feed Africa with its own flights until the UA flights reach certain thresholds of load factor. Or maybe it's somethi...

It's all bias. Let's make a random booking simulation for 2 people who want to go from the Central Station in Brussels to Madrid Barajas. Dates, randomly chosen: DEP Morning June 14th RET Evening June 17th. 1 hold luggage each, coffee on board is paying for both airlines. Ryanair 188€ fare +50€ for ...

Re: LH email alert: NYC for 499€; backstabbing SN?
Or perhaps it's UA putting the pressure on LH, given that UA is probably losing a significant amount of traffic due to SN's adventure.
Hahahaha, so predictable...
Downgrade to 767? Now I'm starting to believe in a downgrade to 757 for EWR.

Re: Brussels Airlines website
Don't you understand that people booking a 50 euro flight have different expectations than people booking a 200 to 2000 euro flight? Despite all that captcha thing on ryanair, it's still much easier and faster to book with them than on the SN website. On Ryanair, I don't get the feeling of being rip...

The business community is not going to return to C class on short haul, forget it. You are dreaming about rebuilding the Crossair product of 20 years ago, which I knew well, because I often used it. Times have changed however, and not just in aviation. There's a reason why you don't have a Crossair...
