well...got it almost right (in the body of the post it was correct - thanks to my spell-checker ;-) ); now corrected in the title. And learning something new, is more valuable than my post as a whole. Thanks Reg.

EBAW ATIS : speech impediment

Does the Antwerp ATIS have a speech disability ?? Mind you, nothing against people with disabilities and I'm all for giving these people an opportunity to integrate in the working society. But an ATIS with a speech disability, that’s a bridge too far if you ask me.... or am I the only one getting fe...

Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-OST-CRL-LGG in 2012

CityJet inbound ANR early this afternoon, came in with medical emergency. Seemed to be very urgent... after landing rwy11 & backtrack, the F50 turned of the rwy, stopped right there and shut down the engines, to have the fire dept. and ambulance (later on with MUG) take care of the pax. But...as...

Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-OST-CRL-LGG in 2012

Were there some difficulties today at BRU from around 15:15 LT?? First two acft had to go-around on rwy20 (one of them the specially painted BA 319 'Dove'). Then everbody switched to 25L and after a couple of landings everybody back to 20. One acft on approach was changed 2 times of landing rwy, mak...

Airship G-TLEL fatal crash

Very sad indeed : http://www.pprune.org/rumours-news/454381-fatal-zeppelin-crash.html Like many of us, saw it only a month ago in action (and heard it over the radio) at EBAW and later on at EBGB. Don't know if it was Mike's (RIP) calm, professional voice I heard over the airwaves, going-around and ...

Re: Why are Ultralights not allowed in Antwerp CTR

Indeed you confirm the current situation. I can't remember when the rule was implemented to prohibit ULM in most controlled airspace, but I guess that was then intended for the 'flying parachute' ULM-type (no disrespect intended for the pilots flying those types of ULM's). But nowadays with ultralig...

Why are Ultralights not allowed in Antwerp CTR

On a regular basis, ultralights are refused access to EBAW CTR (even for crossing). I can understand that a 'flying parachute' ULM-type is not allowed because of very low speed, so maybe getting in the way of other traffic. But just now a Tecnam P92 was refused access, which from ATC point of view b...

Re: VFR to Brussels

EBGB is the closest (as already posted) but few transport facilities (no taxi's waiting outside the terminal, -there is no terminal- ;-) , no car rentals, etc.). So only an option if your business correspondents will pick you up at the airfield. Coming from the north, EBAW is the most logical destin...

Incident at Cerfontaine aerodrome !!

If you look at the Cerfontaine airfield webcam http://www.gravitypark.be/Gravitypark/W ... fault.aspx (Sun 11:45 LT) there seems to be some kind of accident/incident ongoing. Police vehicles and firetrucks on the airfield/grass-strip.
Anybody more info??

Re: Abnormalities at BRU / ANR / LGG / CRL / OST

Flight callsign "B-line 81J" with 79 souls on board landed this evening just before 9PM LT with flaps only partially extended. Requested 25R and firebrigade as a precaution. Expect it to be a completely non-eventfull landing.

Re: Abnormalities at BRU / ANR / LGG / CRL / OST

28/03 14:45 ( LT) EBAW/ANR RWY 29 blocked for approx half an hour; small plane needs to be lifted from the rwy. No injuries 1 POB. Edit: takes a bit longer to clear the rwy - estimated re-open at 16:15 (LT) Final Edit : rwy re-opened around 16:00 (LT) - GA aircraft had made a belly landing - no deta...
