Re: Antonov An-72 from Army D.R. Congo: crash?

Copied from Aviation Safety Network:
The aircraft used to be owned by the Armenian airline South Airlines, registered EK-72903. However, EK-72903, is no longer on the Armenian aircraft register and South Airlines does not seem to have an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) in Armenia.
Smelly, isn't it?

Wow, that's a big plane on a small runway :) But the PC-24 was always conceived to need little runway, I think it can even operate from grass.

it must be a bit confusing to passengers
Allow me to have my doubts: I'll bet you that only a few even saw. Like as not you were the only one.

Re: Antonov An-72 from Army D.R. Congo: crash?

At least it is not a plane owned by the DRC Air Force: the An-72 type is not in the inventory. Like as not is was a plane they chartered. Watch the usual sites and news will come up soon enough. Indeed already appeared at ASN: https://aviation-safety.net/wikibase/229876 NB the plane pictured looks m...

Re: 2019 Liège Airport (LGG/EBLG) latest news

In most countries, train drivers must be certified for the routes they work. Practically this will mean that no train driver will leave her/his own country, or only marginally. Belgian freight trains will be driven by Belgian drivers to the first likely station in Germany (Aachen West) or France, fo...

Re: Dutch airforce acquires extra F-35's

What is to be the "extra infrastructure"? Reactivation of a closed fighter base, perhaps? Or "only" more shelters &c at existing bases?

Myself participate in forums to read and share factual information. Of which there is a good deal available here, and thanks to...

I would be most sorry to miss the professionals in this forum - it is them and only them that bring factual inside information.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Couldn't Bamako be served, at least initially, as a once or twice per week triangular flight, combined with a more traditional destination like Dakar?

Re: Consequences of the looming Thomas Cook bankruptcy on Brussels Airlines

If Thomas Cook Belgium is failing, no doubt this will badly affect SN's future figures. Like as not. But, as yet, officially, only the British branch discontinued operations. Belgian operations continue to run, sales offices ("shops") are open. And I heard media reports of a prospect of t...

Will depend much on altitude. Besides, why ask for an "average"? Explaining the question might help in getting useful answers.

Re: ANR 21/09/2019

Probably related to the open-doors/fly-in at nearby EBBT Brasschaat. NB what makes you consider them "stunt"-fliers? Aviators would rather term them "aerobatics". But at a wild guess it may as well have been the PA-28 team from EBUL Ursel - not aerobatic at all, but very impressi...

Forget about "national airlines" aka "flag carriers". That's a concept from the 20th century - today's world works differently.

Re: Air Antwerp in 2019

:) "Bolleke" is absutely excellent, only it would face us with a problem if ever a second machine joins the fleet. That would almost unavoidably have to become "Fluitje" but I can sense from afar some potential objections there ;) "Heel het leven wordt een lolleke met een fl...
