Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa
Yes, indeed. The 777 flights are already announced to go. 763 will replace on the ORD service. AA JFK service is expected to be cancelled. I guess DL will upgrade to 763 then? Last AA 777 flight to ORD will be operated on November, 21. On November 22, the 763 resumes the service. AA flight 171 (757...

Re: The future of Brussels Airlines with Lufthansa
With US serving BRU only 4 or 5 times a week this winter, I don't think SN needs to expect much feeder from them, but UA and CO combined will definitely do a good job replacing AA, no worries. US BRU-PHL will become seasonal, the last flight will be on October, 27 2009. No US flights during the win...

Re: IMPORTANT message: Brussels Airport
It could be a nice headline in the newspapers though : "Brussels Airport Company is telling aviation enthousiast to keep their mouth shut" Or even better "BAC makes threats to aviation enthousiasts" (since the media is always adding a little spice to it) Man man man, in ...

Re: IMPORTANT message: Brussels Airport
It's indeed not nice but we have to act like a gentlemans agreement: wait before the airport or an airline announce something new. If the press will publish rumours (many times the last couple of weeks) its their problem but a forum is like a feeder flight for an airline. You can pick up some very ...

Re: Cargo B financial woes ?
You take a fully loaded 747 and climb it from FL100 to FL340...while attempting this, you switch of the two outboard engines. Furthermore, you also reduce the thrust on the two remainig engines to about 90%...now, my question to you: what do you expect the plane to do ? And let's not get into the n...

Mace is actually a brand of teargas (main substance: chloroacetophenone)... and commoly used to describe any brand of teargas.
No specific dangerous but very irritating and probably also an illegal weapon.

Re: Where will you fly in 2010 ?
No dates (yet) but some plans:
- Las Vegas (depending if and when Céline Dion starts a new show )
- San Francisco or Los Angeles
- Montréal
And maybe some other destinations, depending on available free time

Re: Cargo B financial woes ?
Even though it might end up like that, De Tijd mentions that Cargo B stops operations, but also that they are not filing for bankrupcy yet. Is this information then not correct? Cargo B Airlines is indeed not bankrupt... They will suspend all activities but are not filing for bankruptcy (yet). But ...

Hmm... If C2000 is failing in The Netherlands I even don't want to know how the ASTRID network will handle itself during a real crisissituation in Belgium... ASTRID has failed before even in non crisissituation (whole network was down about a bit more then a year ago during a faillure at the servers...

Re: Captain of CO061 (BRU to EWR) of this morning died in flight
Where too? The captain may have died deep into the flight, well over the ocean... Since there is no real urgency any longer (the poor guy sadly passed away), there's no need to go off-route and land asap somewhere in the arctic regions at a small emergency airport; better just continue to the plann...

Re: EU to give green light to LH/SN soon!
SN is 10 EUR cheaper than LH,but I rather pay 10 EUR more and take a flight with CRJ200 instead of the AR85. ( never flown CRJ before) Some suggestions, argruments, opinions... I'll take the AR85 anytime before the CRJ200. Flew with the CRJ a couple of months ago in the USA/Canada with AC Jazz and t...

Oh,
A strange thing happened... For once the Priority luggage tags actually worked, my luggage was first on the belt in LAS. Strange thing
Especially since my luggage was last of the belt in BRU on the return trip (also with priority tags).

Re: Where will you fly in 2009?
though I have to admit even Ryanair must be preferable to P&O Ferries and their horrid floating dustbins - at least on Ryanair the horror only lasts at most a couple of hours on a short flight - on P&O Bedbugs you have to endure it for 15 hours. I thought that P&O was decent? Damn I tho...

Re: US Airways: a tale of party people and gremlins - part I
Nice report Bob! I loved reading it, loved your pics also. Nice to see a report from US. To bad they are suspending their flights after this summer, I would have loved to visit Philadelphia once, but that will have to wait or I'll have to go through IAD. Strange that they will suspend their flights....
