Re: Breaking: Belgocontrol air traffic control strike (22 april 2016)

A friend of mine is currently one of the few working at Belgocontrol... He is not happy with this strike, so, do blame all Belgocontrol employees but well some/all unions which really deserve more than shame.

Complete absence of decency from those unions in these hard times

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks

Any similar reports from other airlines/routes? Presumably, this is to be expected, the hope being that LF will pick up progressively as the airport goes back to normal, security measures are relaxed, etc, no? On Monday 11 April, IB3214 (MAD->BRU), business class was full and I would say economy at...

Well done!
Indeed, now let's hope that airlines will remember this achievement and will consider some feeder flights from LGG

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks

CDG, DUS or AMS by car or train to take a shorthaul flight? You are still 2 hours or more on the way If you live nearby BRU, then may be... But, not all BRU passengers live nearby... In my own case, DUS is only a 70-minute drive compared to a 50-minute drive to BRU. Both airports being a Star Allia...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks

Yep. That's the official advise. Seems there is nobody within Brussels Airport who realizes that "3 hours" really frightens off passengers. This is probably linked to the paranoid security... But, in my case adding 3 hours to my 1 hour driving to BRU, does not compare good with 1-hour dri...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks

Let's hope indeed that other European airports/countries will not follow the BRU airport security...

Living in Liège, I am about to consider DUS as a convenient alternative airport (even if I admire BRU & SN reactions)

BTW, I had a very nice experience à LGG on Thursday 31st of April. No chaos albeit crowded but very well organized. Posting a more elaborate post if it is deemed useful

Re: Terror attacks: explosions in the departure hall of Brussels Airport!

Indeed, pre-entry scanner will only displace the problem.

Let's face it: the world is somehow dangerous... and to be cynical, the 30 poor people who died last week due to cowards are striking, but, who cares about the 100 people dead/year by car accident? Should we limit the car speed to 50 km/h ?

Re: Repositioning of BRU operations to other airports after attacks

I have seen Aviapartner staff from BRU and obviously JAF staff from BRU at OST. Also, station managers from the various airlines that have diverted there are also present when their flights arrive and leave. Thanks, Iberia (via Facebook 8-) ) replied that they have staff + boarding passes for all c...

Re: Repositioning of BRU operations to other airports after attacks

BTW, do we know how the check in is done at LGG & OST? Are the check-in counters staffed by the BRU agents? Such as LH, IB, BA agents? Are the tickets issued for any further legs? Such as LHR to YVR or MAD to EZE ? I had a bad experience months ago in LGG with BMI regional to MUC where the 2nd b...

it also seems that all Iberia flights are not more diverted to LGG... Probably because of low load factor or huge delay?
