Re: Move the national airport to Beauvechain?

Another 'solution' is probably the evolution we see today: an increased share of market of the regional airports. Unfortunately for the complainers it does not result in lower traffic volumes at any airport since the industry as a whole structurally grows. I just think we need to come to terms with ...

Re: Move the national airport to Beauvechain?

I have no idea why this is not the case today. probably historical evolution (taxi times, taxi infrastructure, geography just behind the runway thresholds, performance requirements, etc.) But a valid suggestion and a good illustration of the fact that there are probably more intelligent and elegant ...

Re: Move the national airport to Beauvechain?

Ever read the article on p21 of the environmental report? It shows the evolution of the 55db Noise level around Brussels airport. You can find it here In my humble opinion, other initiatives - which are consitently ignored in the press because you cannot politically score with them - are far more im...

Re: Move the national airport to Beauvechain?

The real problem is not the noise. When you live in brussels, ambient noise levels are higher than the ones generated by aircraft with the exception of the occasional freighter that has a hard time climbing out. The real problem is that due to our country's poor political structures, the airport is ...

Re: Move the national airport to Beauvechain?

I live in Brussels for one year the planes where flying over my house and it was a disaste [/b] Why don't you relocate then? I lived in Evere for over 20 yeards. Never did I or any of my neighbours complain about the noise levels. We chose to live there, and accepted the inconveniences that come wi...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Well, reading all the good things said here above about old aircraft (profitable, comfortable, reliable), 2-cents aviation enthusiasts like me may wonder that some airlines actually order new aircraft ! Do Ryanair, Wizz Air, Norwegian have it all wrong, with their hundreds of new aircraft ordered ?...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

The only ones obsessed with fleet age are aviation enthousiasts posting their 2 cents on forums like these. For an airline, the age of a fleet is irrelevant. The possible consequences of the age are, but these can be managed. In the end, what counts is - customer experience: how does the passenger e...

Re: brussels airlines (SN) market share @ Brussels airport (BRU)

Hi Brusselsairlinesfan, I don't know what the Sabena marketshare was back then, but it is likely to have been significantly higher simply looking at the fleet and the fact that they carried over 10 million passengers a year through BRU. But I can't help but asking myself "what does it matter?&q...

Embraer E190-E2 pictures released

Flightlevel just published an article on the Embraer E190-E2, the next generation Embraer E-jet to enter the market in 2018. I noticed they choose for raked wing tips instead of winglets.

And...they never expire on the condition that you keep flying with us is the perfect definition of points that expire :) Indeed they do expire, so that's a bit of a PR trick, but you can't deny that they are relatively unlimited in time compared to other loyalty programs where (status and/or award)...
