Yes, and very soon indeed; already this autumn!
Nice lobbying from the Belgian government, BRU and SN combined.
Shows you that when they work together, they can achieve much more than just low cost riff raff.
More information on frequencies, schedule and SN code shares to come...

Re: BRU Summer 2016: news, new routes, airlines
Indeed, BRU and SN are jointly trying to remove the last hurdles for ANA to launch this route in spring already. The flight will be code shared and ANA will put its codes on many connecting flights from BRU too. In a later stage, SN can then join the J+ joint venture of the LH group airlines with AN...

Re: Trivia 2015 (miscellaneous news)
SN's flight to BJM diverted to NBO today due to the unrest in the capital of Burundi.
The next flight on Friday has been closed for bookings to make room for possible rebooking of passengers in case it can operate as scheduled (situation permitting).

Re: Background info on hiring techniques at the low cost airlines
ROTFL! If you think these are LOW COST practices, Sean, read the terms and conditions offered. I am sure all those Ryanair crew flocking together in Zaventem all get their accomodation provided by Ryanair too, right? Just as their car park at the airport and their uniforms that must be then! ...

Re: Germanwings A320 crash in France
At some point, one would almost hope for a some sort of an incredible technical failure as that is explainable and preventable... This kind of a scenario however, can effectively reoccur everywhere ,any time at any airline and there's nothing we can do about it, unless not flying at all like you say...

Re: Germanwings A320 crash in France
no I know that, it's a situation that is never completely preventable. The only "plus" I can see in this scenario when a cabin crew member is present in the flightdeck is that (and I'm speaking with a lot of if's and when's here because nothing is sure at this point) if the remaining pilo...

Re: Germanwings A320 crash in France
That's the same in the 737. One of the reasons why we always have a cabin crew member "replace" the pilot in the flightdeck when he/she leaves is to prevent situations like this. It's not a Boeing FCOM procedure, it's a company procedure I understand that, but from this perspective, it's ...

Re: Germanwings A320 crash in France
On Airbus, the door design philosophy is such that there is no more need for anybody in the cockpit (be it the remaining pilot, or an alternative cabin crew member) to grant access in emergency, so the SOP you are asking for is not in the Airbus FCOM since they have turned procedures around: You nee...

This is going to be Europe's most photographed plane soon and by far.
There's also a very nice air to air picture made too, btw, which will be available soon.

Re: Turkish Airlines A330-300 has crash-landed in Kathmandu (Nepal)
Not sure I follow you here. Do you mean that Capt de Crespigny should have been prosecuted for having kept his passengers on board his A380 in SIN? Yet that plane was ON it's wheels and ON the RWY still, regardless its bad condition. A plane that slid on its belley and ended OFF a RWY, is a whole d...

Re: Turkish Airlines A330-300 has crash-landed in Kathmandu (Nepal)
Oh boy, flanker is at it once again... Firstly, at many airlines, a highspeed gear collapse MUST be followed by an evaction as per company SOP, just to make sure passengers are off by the time a subsequent fire might develop. It's may not always be needed in hindsight, but hindsight is always 20/20 ...

Re: Brussels airlines future and financial perspective
Yet growth for the sake of growth doesnt mean anything. Ask anybody who doesnt work for SN but IN the industry if they are willing to jump ship to SN and the answer will be: no, I will not take that risk. I actually know quite a few people who have made that very decision. On quite some levels with...

FWIW, Inquirer:
SN's financial results for 2014 will be announced on March 12th, together with the rest of the Lufthansa group, and yes indeed: you seem to be able to have no problem predicting events before they unfold.

Re: Brussels airlines future and financial perspective
JAN was a heavy maintenance month for the A330 fleet at SN: several planes went to LIS for that purpose and thus long haul capacity was reduced as a consequence vs last year (as also reflected in the lower ASK/RSK figures, despite SN operating more EUR flights this winter). The figures for EUR show ...

Thirdly, from the moment the delay lasts longer than 2 hours with that same receipt you can try and claim part of your purchase back depending on what and how much you bought. Yep. Italian customs are known for their willingness to pay back Irish VAT to Belgian tourists... Compared to the effort to...

Re: Stuck on FR 737 in Rome, emergency ?
As I pointed out ... We didnt make any errors. The extended of the delay wasnt clear and the taxes owned were paid in italy. As pointed out... the 2 hour delay needn't have happened already, its likeliness is enough. meals and refreshments needn't be SOLD, they need to be provided for FREE. your fi...

Re: Stuck on FR 737 in Rome, emergency ?
First of all it wasnt clear that it was going to last longer than 2 hours. When it is clear to your much improved airline? At 1:59:59? And then what at 2:00:00? Obviously, still nothing then, because everything was sold out (illegally, btw). Secondly it is not a violation of the fiscal law w...
