Re: The role of Belgian airports in the distribution of Covid-19 vaccines

sn26567 wrote: 13 Dec 2020, 11:33 Isn't it surprising that the first shipment of Pfizer vaccines from Puurs to Canada left from Cologne/Bonn airport rather than from one of our specialised pharma cargo airports?
First Pfizer vaccines left BRU via UA belly.

Never mind... Didn't read Canada

Re: OO-SGC: A new lease of life

Why did Sabena never buy the Combi's to operate into Africa? KL's Combi's offered more or less the same pax capacity as SN's A330's did/do but with more valuable cargo space. They were combi's... Google "Sabena 747 seatmap"... I believe Sabena even did the conversion of the 747-100's them...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

I must admit I do not see a bright future neither... Neither does BRU CEO Arnaud Feist. I can't read the article below, but the header says ‘We no longer see a light at the end of the tunnel' and 'Thousands of jobs will disappear’. https://www.standaard.be/cnt/dmf20200925_97599090 I wonder what he ...

Re: Future long haul destinations Brussels Airport

United just announced new long haul routes, also to Africa. If passengers can fly non stop between the US and Africa BRU won’t be needed anymore. Also last year people were pretty sure that United would launch flights between SFO and BRU. This was before COVID-19... What went wrong there? Quite a s...

On the other hand, travelling on a plane and refusing to wear a mask is even less acceptable. I don't know how such people could be named. Now let's move forward and discuss aviation. They should be named for what they are: unruly passengers. If it's up to me they should be kicked off the plane imm...

Re: Impact of aviation on the Coronavirus crisis

I wasn't referring to the mask you wear, that's entirely your choice. The way you address other people is more of an issue. Other people not wearing a mask or airlines ignoring the Covid rules are an even bigger issue. Sure, screaming at a complete stranger to put his fucking mask on is acceptable ...

I follow up and do not recommend people to fly from AMS. The Netherlands is far behind other countries on the mask wearing policy. People are not wearing masks in stores and supermarkets. Upon landing I was shocked to realise that the young monkey in his twenties behind me was not wearing his mask....

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

That's what I proposed for years already that SN use the A321LR to Luanda for example but a lot of people where mocking me then. I don't know what the discussion was about exactly, nor why you were being mocked, but before stating 'SN should fly the A321(X)LR to this or that destination' one needs ...

Re: Breaking: BRU obtains US border preclearance station status

Since BRU is only one of the few Star Alliance airports to get US preclearence it might open up opportunities for UA to expand at BRU.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

But can the A321XLR take enough cargo ? They don't need the range of the A350. As more long haul destinations are part of the 'plan', maybe they can use them in the future? The 321XLR can serve on thinner routes with lesser cargo needs. It might open up some tatl opportunities for instance...

They are talking about ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

290 million loan, LH pledges 170 million. Guarantees for the brand name Brussels Airlines, (long haul) growth in BRU and more ecological aircraft and guarantees SN becomes a network airline.

Good deal. I honestly didn't expect De Croo and co to pull it off.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

SN never realy got a fair chance fighting for its reason to excist. Now you might claim other airlines were hit by the same crises as SN (apart from the 2016 attacks) but overall most other airlines got the time and opportunity to grow or get stable at times when SN was struggling from Sabena's ban...

However, there is also talks to get loans with state support, all these loans will have to be repaid in due time. In order to pay back the loans, it is crucial that the company still exists in a few years and that it is profitable, hence the important of the restructuring plan. For almost 20 years ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

I don't understand why everyone keeps saying LH might f*ck over the Belgian government for the restructuring 2020-2023 and then abandon SN while De Croo said they obtained a post 2023 growth plan.
