Re: Entebbe - Kigali with Rwandair.

Very interesting trip report, and for as far as I know, the first one on RwandAir, probably one of the most ambitious airlines in Central Africa. I still wonder why SN has not tried to have them as a partner for connections to Central African destinations (apart from the codeshare on BRU-KGL). Than...

Re: Minimum connecting times at BRU

Well, it’s also somewhat circumstantial. Weather conditions : Winter or bad Wx can affect the arrival time, hence connection. Time of day : B Pier in the early morning or mid-afternoon is not the same queuing time. Airline : some airlines may announce a flight time longer than necessary (maybe to ra...

Re: Day trip from Brussels to Dublin with Ryanair

Thanks André but this is weird no? There is no request for authorization while in flight I guess, so it is the hand-held reader that causes the snag? Anyhow, thank you for having clarified the matter. I could only hope that it was not the colour of your card was the reason for rejection .....

Re: Day trip from Brussels to Dublin with Ryanair

Hi André,

Thank you for this detailed and colourful report.

Just one question : you mention "..my SN American Express card was refused..", and you made the same remark on a previous TR.
Do you mean the AMEX could not be read or it was refused by the CCM?

Thanks,

H.A.

Re: Entebbe Airport. Nov 2014.

Interesting report about an African airport! I enjoyed reading it. I have a couple of questions: The RWY 18-36 has since been decommissioned. It seems indeed to be by far the shortest runway. Probably not able to accommodate wide-bodies. Do you know its length? Southern edge with one of the two boa...

Re: Entebbe Airport. Nov 2014.

Great airport experience! I must say the airport doesn't look... African, except for the old planes... And don't we have a couple of old A310 at BRU as well? Cheers, Stij Thanks Stij, Well, EBB shows its age of course and its terminal is bursting at the seams but it is actually well kept. The airpo...

Re: Greek AF F-16 crashes on other fighter jets at Albacete

I'm afraid that more/most of the injured may not make it. And it is sad to say but the alternative is a painful live after having had a large part of the body and the lungs burnt severely.
Others spared by the fire may also suffer from the exposure to hydrazine from the F-16 EPU.

Really sad.

Very nice report, H.A., probably (one of) the first on an African flight of SN. Quite an itinerary you booked: curious to read your further experiences! I am surprised that the crew flies to EBB and does not stay at KGL. Thanks André, I don't know the reason, there are nice hotels in Kigali as well...

Entebbe Airport. Nov 2014.

Continuation of my TR BRU-EBB. Entebbe airport is to embark into an expansion program that will a.o. extend its main apron and passenger terminal. Build about 40 years ago, the later has reached and exceeded its capacity (1.5M Pax last year), and at some times of the day it really shows especially a...

Re: Greek AF F-16 crashes at Albacete.

The two pilots on board the F-16D died when their jet crashed on the flightline while attempting to take off. Other aircraft were being readied for a training mission. It is possible that the other casualties (10 dead and 13 wounded) are ground personnel and pilots. Aircraft apparently directly hit ...

Thanks Established for these nice pics.

Re: Day trip from Brussels to Rome with Ryanair, and bomb alert!

Thanks for a nice report André. Very unusual to land on RWY 07, but that's not the most memorable part of your trip for sure ! :D As concerns the use of boarding bridges, this is the standard method. True it is often presented to be slower than using stairs but the prime reason is cost, not surprisi...

Re: Abnormalities in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2015

LH2284 (MUC-BRU, E195) did a GA this morning while attempting to land on RWY19.
Went back North towards Bruno then gave up, went SE then East and diverted to CGN.
Other flights continued landing on RWY19.

Incidentally the previous LH2282 from MUC, STA 0810, had been cancelled.
