Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2022
As mentioned they have a regular full cargo passenger flight for quite some time now. But they always came in under the cover off darkness until last month. Now they are using a more passenger friendly shedule. Who knows, maybe they are looking to start a regular passenger service in the (near) futu...

Operating a door on an aircraft is limited up until a certain windspeed. Once open it can withstand a higher speed but since the windspeed was higher than the speed limit on an open door there was no safe moment to open the doors for quite some time. Once the windspeed decreased, the big job of hand...

Re: Alitalia saved by the Government and reborn as ITA
It seems that shipping company MSC wants to invest between 1.2 and 1.5 billion euros in ITA while LH has said that for now it is mainly interested in a commercial partnership, suggesting that any investment in the capital, if any, will be very modest. Gianluigi Aponte, owner of MSC, an entrepreneur...

Could it be they are going to opperate them in the same way as they do for CMA-CGM. There is a logistics company that opened a warehouse at BRU and also bought two B747-8F, rumours say they are not placing them at the opperator that was mentioned in their press-release.

If you go 'behind the scenes' a vast majority of staff is french speaking. Really? To settle the issue, some official figures: The airport employs workers from all provinces of the country, the centre of gravity being in the provinces of Flemish Brabant (40%) and Antwerp (17%), followed by the Brus...

"Harass-the-passengers-strike"! Is that what they think will solve their problems? They should be ashamed! There would be NO excuse for such behavior, whatever their dispute is with their management! The clever thing to do would be to try and bring passengers on their side. How can they d...

Re: Diversions from around the globe (medical, technical, ...) 2021
OO-SSN operating BRU-MXP as SN3215 seems to have had a problem just after take-off this morning. Very unusual engine sound when passing overhead. Went around maintaining about 2300ft for an immediate return. Landed back 12 minutes later on RWY25R. Vacated the RWY with Fire 022 in support. H.A. Bird...

Probably I'm being cynical... Aunty Lufty's beancounters figured out Aunty Lufti ordered to many planes given the crisis... You got it, but the result is Brussels Airlines gets new planes, and a bigger chance of being competitive by their lower fuel burn and higher earning potential. #thinkpossitve

Where the plane goes has more to do with the company that is handling the flight and available space on apron 9. With a big emphasis on DHL-priority since they moved to the cargo side.

Re: Airbus A350 XWB news
There is only 1 direct comparison for the A350 and that is the B777. But indeed there is some opportunity for Airbus to make its way into the civilian heavy freighter market. The B747 fleet is aging fast and production is stopped. So there will be a market opening up for them. Although I would rathe...

No they don't, but you cannot remove it like you remove a trolley from the galley. It's part of the equipement of the aircraft. There are certification etc. So even if you can "easily" remove it, I'm not sure that administratively you do it so easily. I would not see why it would be a pro...
