OMG More of the same status quo At least the Board understood the need to FINALLY do something, since it has been 3 months almost since somebody was at the controls at SN. However, by apointing a kind of ad interim CEO to replace the temporary executive committee, the signal sent is that of a compan...

SN's CEO Peter Davies has made room for his successor.

Ever since Rob Kuypers, chairman of SN stepped down after a dispute with the shareholders of the company, it has been expected the CEO of SN Brussels Airlines, Peter Davies, too would have to follow in his steps and leave the airline. Peter Davis was officially known to be on 'holiday with undetermi...

What have I told you 7 weeks ago, Atlantis???? On the good side, the 3 A330s will soon all be repainted and in the mean time, there will indeed be another B767 or A330 leased as stop gap measure, so spotters: keep your camera's ready! No hard feelings though my friend, I am glad we have a confirmati...

I don't think one can call this early rumours, in fact these are old rumours (and more than just rumours in fact). SN just can't make up its mind that's where the problem is! You know just as well as I Bart that the 4th A330 was OFFICIALLY announced through internal communication channels a few mont...

The plan is to reduce the size of the business class cabin as well as the number of seats in it, since C class is never fully booked and SN often has to upgrade Y class pax as the economy class is often packed to max capacity. The space which will become available will be used to enlarge the Y cabin...

Non audited results for the first half of this year show SN booked an operational profit of 18,2 million euro, which translated to a net profit of 11,2 million euro. (For info: SN booked a positive net result of 1,9 million euro during the first half of last year.) Traditionally, the second half of ...

Don't be blinded by the load on a First Flight! Obviously a first flight will have a decent load, if alone because many persons from within the airline as well as from outside are invited to come along and get to know the new destination... The real success can be measured on th following flights. A...

Before the "Hotelakoord", SN had a contract where was clearly stated that the suisse would raise their stake in SN whenever it was possible (EU regulations). Wasn't that a better agreement then "the hotelakoord"? I mean why would they give that up? Swissair made it clear during ...

Re: SABENA 4 jaar later - DE ZEVENDE DAG - TV1

considering the sums of money in this matter, I consider it somewhere close to neglect on behalf of the Belgian government. The neglect of the Belgian government for what was going on at Sabena did clearly show in the years before the hotel agreement, when all decisions at Sabena were taken by the ...

Re: SABENA 4 jaar later - DE ZEVENDE DAG - TV1

I wonder what Verhofstadt and Vande Lanotte got in return from the Swiss in the famous 'hotel agreement'. I can hardly imagine that it was just 'one way giving' towards the Swiss. I'm still an angry 'ex-Sabenien' and I wish to all my former collegues and Belgian citizens that we will know the compl...

Indeed blackhawk. After a thorough analysis of all possibilities (E170, A318, B717, RJ), it was clear the cheapest solution would be to keep the Avro RJs (thanks to their increadibly low leasing rates) and the leasing contracts on the 5 oldest RJ85s have since been prolongued by another 5 years, wit...

Don't get too exited, guys, I can assure all of you no SN flights to FRA are scheduled for the winter season... Thanks for that info, Airbus330lover- Here's an interior shot of this machine, now operated by Air Luxor: http://www.airliners.net/open.file/713691/M/ One can clearly see it still has the old Sabena cabin fittings and would thus be perfect for short term lease by SN. I received an e-mail from SNBA. All the rumours about the new A330 are NOT TRUE, even the date 2007 is not true. H About 2 months ago, there has been an internal staff memo saying SN Air Holding had decided in principle to add a 4th A330 and had given green light to start looking for such a plane (...
