Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
BRU shouldn't go after the likes of AMS, CDG, FRA,... I flew twice from AMS and it was horendous. Overcrowded, long walks, passing security took forever... BRU should focus on an top notch customer experience and thus also be selective at what airlines fly from the airport at busy hours. It’s true ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
On the other hand the big Hubs have euch 2 flights daily operated by LH and United so total time may be less than a connection to BRU which has to earn it's money from P2P Pax. Last but not least the yield is important as well. As usual, answers are not simple. Sn needs to earn more per Pax on it's...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
BRU can be expanded as Hub for African niche routes - this happens with integration of the offers into the joint ventures. But BRU won't become a European Hub- simply because MUC is more central, built by purpose for that and LH owns 50% of the terminal it operates thus earning a share of profits o...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
You can compare apples to apples - CDG and AMS to FRA+MUC+ZRH. The markets BRU serves are not core for LH. So BRU would get some additional connectivity to fill capacity, not more, not less. You're overestimating your brand and it's role, hence the frustration vs your dreams. See the facts - althou...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
It happens sometimes in BRU,sure if it's not possible you have to use another runway it's it just an idée already used at other airports.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
I wonder why SN is not getting Embraer 170 or A220-100 present within the Group to serve thinner routes and to increase feeder service ? Again, you have to see the big picture as the brand is not independent. The strategy within the group is to simply operations and thus increase their efficiency -...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
Also BRU gave a first reaction after analyzing the new permit. The airport is afraid, with those severe restrictions, which were also named by Voka, that the airport cannot grow after 2032. Those restrictions are not in line with the European guidelines. BRU can go in appeal just like AMS is/was do...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024

Re: BRU Winter 2024 - 2025: news, new routes, airlines
Hi, there is already an existing topic BRU Winter 2024-2025. Maybe you can move it there to avoid double topics And regarding Thai it was already mentioned in that topic on the 4th February Saw it too late, I'll have to wait for a moderator. And yeah, it was never confirmed. Officially not, but we ...

Great news : Thai will return at the end of the year. CEO : "Europe is the most important market for us. We fly to eight destinations in total. Milan and Oslo will be added in the middle of the current year, and Brussels at the end of the year." Source : AeroTelegraph Hi, there is already...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
And another comment/question. Is it not a pitty that the Big Boss apparently discards the A321LR ? As Boston is really a short intercontinental flight, wouldn't this aircraft not be totally appropriate ? Same for a double daily flight to Dakar (trafic rights permitting) ? Just asking... I'm agree w...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
For the moment not or nothing in near future. There are more places in that area where buildings were demolished and was just used as parking for staff afterwards. Thanks for the info. Are there other buildings that will also be demolished ? Great to see Soviet buildings disappear. This whole stree...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
I've read the strike will cut the (fragile!) profits in half... Well done pilots and all parties involved, well done! Don’t judge unless you work there and really know what this is all about. But how is this possible a weak company has this one, I don't blame any party but it it's threatening!

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Not only passengers are frustrated, but travel agencies are now reluctant to book customers on Brussels Airlines, especially if they have a connection with Lufthansa (StrikeHansa) at Munich or Frankfurt. It's not only Brussels Airlines, but the whole Lufthansa Group that is affected. I bet they boo...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
What I don't understand with pilots is that it's the top of the social basket; they can find a job wherever they want in any other company, why go on strike? Yeah well, there is already a significant exodus to other airlines. But for sure, it’s also very easy to quit everything you have in Belgium,...
