Re: 2022 Military escalation Russia - Ukraine - USA - NATO - Europe

Thanks KriVa, I appreciate your detailed interesting answer. Reminds me of Luchtzak.be when this type of exchange was the standard. ;) You are perfectly right about the tankers mission profiles. Years ago I was in contact with some crew of the 100ARW at Mildenhall and they said it can be anything fr...

Twelve (12) F-35A from the 34th FS were already operating from Spangdahlem, Germany where they had arrived on 16FEB from Hill AFB, Utah. Some sources report that 6 of them deployed further East yesterday 27FEB, two to each of the following bases : - Ämari, Estonia (where the 4 Belgian F-16 are alrea...

There are unfortunately more important losses in Ukraine at the moment but the loss of the unique An-225 will be long remembered. https://www.aviation24.be/manufacturers/antonov/an-225-mriya/the-antonov-an-225-mriya-destroyed-by-n-fire-in-its-hangar-in-ukraine/ I remember seeing her in Iran some 10 ...

While FIRs in the West request to remain 200nm clear of UA airspace, it seems the Russians impose to stay 500nm off the easternmost border of Ukraine.

This Pobeda from IST to Moscow spotted on Friday 25FEB.

An Air France Triple 7 is flying from Seoul to Vancouver at the moment, with a 4-digit number which, is rarely used on long-haul flights. https://www.flightradar24.com/AFR6700/2af50614 I don't know if it's linked to the fact that the airline no longer wants to fly over Russia and therefore goes thr...

Why would you publish the position of an f35 on fr24 ? I find it so weird Public relations? "Hello, I'm here. And I'm the only one squawking in our flight" ;) F-35 not shy.png I've seen this 13-5067 earlier this morning, supposedly from Bitburg according to FR24 but more probably from Spa...

Lots of tankers still on duty close to the western border of Ukraine. Enough to quench the thirst of many fast jets over there. Re: 2022 Military escalation Russia - Ukraine - USA - NATO - Europe

Why would it be a stealth aircraft? Both ADSBExhange and FR24 use ADS-B data as their source, no radars are used. As such, as soon as an aircraft stops transmitting said data, it will be invisible to either of those services. It will however not be invisible to radars if in range, be they land-base...

Re: 2022 Military escalation Russia - Ukraine - USA - NATO - Europe

I have seen on several occasions today that a Texaco flies over Poland or Romania, in a racetrack pattern at standard FL240/250 but no other aircraft is visible near the tanker, on FR24 or adsbexchange.

What stealth aircraft could be involved?

I suspect it's being DDOS'd by the Russians so we can't see the traffic above Ukraine.

Can someone confirm ?
FR24 was very slow this morning indeed.

PS: Shouldn't the topic be re-named into "Russian invasion of Ukraine affecting civilian aviation"?
Well, isn't this only a logical and predictable continuation of the "Ukraine Crisis" ?

I do pity the population suffering from this political game.
