Re: 2020 Liège Airport (LGG/EBLG) latest news
That would be too specific and only make people focus on details and not the general picture... I don't see a lot of "deep" coordination between Brussels and Liège. Brussels just does what they need to: sequence and hand off to Liège approach. There are controllers in Brussels who really ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
It was not Wallonia but Brussels Region but that's a long time ago they don't have any interest in it anymore and Charleroi is there now but I hope you are right and it's not motivated by regional nationalism but I doubt it. I have no doubts about this after reading following quote from the article...

This 'new' airline isn't that new at all. It used to call Yangtze River Express and came to BRU before.

Re: Impact of the coronavirus crisis on aviation
On Monday 30/03 SN is planning a flight to Yaounde, booked as SN1053 in the cargo section of the BRU website. Guess they did the numbers and found a profit on the bottom line.

Re: Brucargo 2020: cargo routes & news
keeping the A330's idle isn't economical either .. ? different airliners who don't own cargo planes are transporting cargo in the main cabin as well ... maybe cargo flights are reserved for the mother airline LH Don't you think their management knows better than you do? Why the need to bring LH bac...

Re: Brucargo 2020: cargo routes & news
2. A new cargo player at Brucargo: Silkway will fly a few times a week between Baku and BRU. For the moment 2 flights a week. Is it a direct consequence of COVID-19 or already planned for a while ? They did a test flight early this year/ late last year and back then they where talking about some fl...

Re: 2020 Liège Airport (LGG/EBLG) latest news
Can anyone comment if Liège is overloaded these days ? I see less and less qatar flights and some source* mention Basel is used instead of LGG and LUX. I also see qatar flights from MST. Is it that crowded ? Where is the bottleneck ? * https://skynews.ch/zivilluftfahrt/merklich-mehr-frachtverkehr-a...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
The solution of storing freight on top of the seats is OK for transporting feather weight goods, but otherwise you might incur more costs than revenue by doing this. Removing seats and fastening freight however is easier than one might think. ULD's have the same type of rails for fastening the net t...

Re: Impact of the coronavirus crisis on aviation
It's not a secret a lot of SN's Africa revenue comes from cargo, sometimes even more so then from pax... Might it offer some opportunities for SN to keep flying the A330-fleet to Africa with cargo, even with a near empty passenger cabin? With prices for cargo on the up, some airlines that offered c...

Re: Impact of the coronavirus crisis on aviation
In this situation cargo will be playing a vital role to keep the economy primed for the moment normal live can restart. And also for bringing in vital supplies like safety clothing etc. for the medical staff in hospitals. A draw-back of globalisation is that local production in Western Europe is not...

Most chineese flights are suspended Very big impact for LGG i think Looks like they resumed china connections heavily (Which i find weird because nothing is solved and the slowdown is real) Screenshot_20200229-151055_Flightradar24.jpg Well, yes and no, the one thing that is most interesting for air...

Re: Airlines suspending or readjusting China routes due to Coronavirus
Not that surprising at all, an airbase is easier to maintain the quarantine. The logistics could have a severe impact on operations of a civil airport. Busses need to be able to meet the passengers on tarmac while maintaining a secure perimeter. Depending of the number of busses and the size of the ...

Re: Brussels Airport monthly traffic figures
I still believe the problem of BRU lies with the shareholders. Dividend that BRU is keeping for them is extremely high. ( about 5 times what AMS is paying ). My information says BRU payed 93 million, CDG 173 million and AMS 117 million over 2018. AMS and CDG are multiple times larger thus BRU’s div...

Re: The Thomas Cook bankruptcy and its aftermath
"Other"? But not TUI I guess? Which airlines are mainly/usually used by those "other" package tour operators? Or is it really a big blend of all companies? I don't know about all commercial deals between tour operators and airlines. One tour operator can have dozens of them depe...

The airline selected by the tour operator that assembled the package you bought. They only offer vacations by other tour operators for now.

Screenshot_20191123-220228_Flightradar24.jpg Lets see how many idiots read this forum and how much mess they want to create this time. It's almost double the length of MAA - LGG. So half as bad no? ;) Double?? MAA (Chennai)-LGG is almost 8000km! IATA code for Maastricht is MST. sorry, my bad
