Ryanair news in 2024
As I don't see a specific topic, I created this one about Ryanair. As certain people complain that SN abandoned Bordeaux, well today Ryanair announced that they will close their Bordeaux base as from 2024. 90 people will lose their job and 40 destinations are affected. Reason: the airport became to ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
SN's shareholders were so naive in the end in their selling strategy that a smart LH managed to buy it for peanuts. It allowed them to sideline competition at BRU at a minimal cost which in turn would be offset by flying Belgian passengers to LH's main hubs. For that purpose it has kept SN on a lif...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
On a slightly positive note, in the interview obe referred us to, Boxberg's answers had much more substance than previously. She has learned, but is still under the orders of the Big Boss. Ohh yes, he decide. First profit. But you can't make profit or bigger profit if you don't invest. And I mean r...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Initially it was a good idea. But good ideas can turn into a nightmare when a new boss takes over. The new boss took over. Kept SN and BRU very small but forgot to cover the East part of Germany. Over the border in Poland you have a very strong player LOT, also Star Alliance, and is expanding each ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Well, the good news is that OO-SFC is back from MAN where she spent more than 3 months. I saw her arriving on Saturday evening, still wearing the classic BeeLine livery. SN long haul fleet indeed shows a nice aero-diversity : = Four (4) birds with the classic BeeLine. OO-SFC, -D, -E, -G. = One (1) ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
It s not beacause an aircraft is not flying that it's free to go somewhere else to be painted. OO-SFP is simply having some work done to be ready to integrate the SN fleet. No there is no time to go to the paintshop, this aircraft is needed at the homebase asap D-AIKG was flying at SN before it wen...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
OO-SFP (D-AIKG) should be transfered to BRU this week. She will keep her Lufthansa livery with Brussels Airlines sticker untill winter when she will go to the paint shop. D-AIKG was really some time out of roulation. First maintenance but after a couple of weeks just standing in DUS. Could that tim...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Why do you think that you are the only one? I think many. You can reroute pax via your partners in the group but when it's happening on a weekly basis, it's not OK. Business pax don't want to fly via, they want to fly direct. The same for other pax. On this way they will not grow in pax and in profi...

Very quickly after the first cargo flights, 2 flights per week, of FarCargo, they added already 2 extra weekly flights.
Inbound cargo is full of fresh fish, the outbound cargo remains an issue.

Re: BRU Winter 2024-2025: News, new routes, airlines
Quite a big news, after so many years. From 2nd September, LOT will fly 4x a day, taking advantage of the 20th anniversary of Poland's accession to the European Union. Nice to see. It also can be that they jump in the gap which SN left. SN started not long time ago WAW and reduced it already to onl...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Only 6 lh flights today. SFC has been in MAN for 8 weeks now; does someone know when it's due back in BRU? SFD flew to QPG (Singapore) yesterday; does anyone know why? It's in the topic Brussels Airlines fleet renewal. Member Delta Sierra posted that SFC will be back from C-check on 8th May. SFD we...

Re: Brucargo 2024: cargo routes & news
At the Indermodal South America, LATAM Cargo announced 2 new destinations to Europe: Florianopolis in Brazil and Montevideo in Uruguay. Both routes will begin operating in April 2024 and year round. It will be again between AMS and BRU, because of the slot restrictions at AMS but also BRU didn't co...

Re: BRU Winter 2024-2025: News, new routes, airlines
And what's happening with the triple bridge they will keep it broken?! They are still using it except the one that is too short. But this has no influence on the normal operations with the aircraft types who are flying currently on BRU. I hope that, if ever Emirates or any other airline introduces ...
