Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
Here is perhaps some insight into what's happening. Feel free to comment if you agree or disagree: It's important to remember that the Belgian government does not care about Brussels Airlines or about aviation in Belgium. All that each politician cares about is themselves and your votes to boost the...

Re: Kalitta 747-400 Dumping fuel
Luchtzak, you're right, the Kalitta levelled at 7,000 feet. What I mean is that only about 10% of all birdstrikes are above 3,500 feet altitude and the explosions occurred at around 5 to 6,000 feet.
The aircraft is now on it's way to Brussels

Re: Kalitta 747-400 Dumping fuel
Meise, Merchtem, Opwijk as it was climbing out. The engine was shut down around Opwijk when the explosions stopped. It shows similarities to a birdstrike however the aircraft was already quite high, although not impossible for it to still be a birdstrike it might indicate that something else may be ...

There's an additional order from Philippine Airlines for 2 additional Boeing 777-300ER's through Intrepid Aviation (Leasing). It will be the 7th and 8th Boeing 777-300ER in the PAL fleet. Deliveries are expected in the last quarter of 2016 and the first half of 2017. An announcement will also be mad...

Burning fuel to weigh lighter to land can not be the problem anymore. He's been circling for too long. He should be able to land right now. There must be another problem.
He's finally coming in to land now.

Subsidies to Belgian airlines, a joke?
It's very clever of the Belgian government to give subsidies DIRECTLY to the airlines concerned, knowing very well that the European Commission would not allow it and force the airlines to refund the money. This way the government can not say that they didn't do anything while at the same time the m...

Re: Replacement of Brussels Airlines' Boeing & Avro RJ fleet
Let me get this straight: Third world countries are buying new, more fuel efficient aircraft and getting rid of their older aircraft where they end up in a western world country like....... Belgium? Brussels Airlines can't even lease new aircraft, much less buy them. They have the oldest A330's on t...

Re: European airlines banned over Siberia
Germany's Lufthansa Cargo and AeroLogic have already been banned.
Lufthansa Cargo has not received clearance to overfly Russian territory connecting 11 of it's services between Europe and the Far-East.
AeroLogic has so far been refused 30 flights.

Re: SN operates a dedicated Red Devils flight to Sao Paulo
Also the regularly scheduled BRU-Dakar flight, SN205 was only about 1 hour behind SN2014 so in case of technical problems with OO-SFO, 205 (A330-300 OO-SFN) could easily replace SN2014 (VIP flights go first) :D Of course, many problems are solved because of the airport being a regular stop for SN, h...
