Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Is OO-SFX configured with the same seats in Business and Eco as the other A333's?
Before its first flight, there were rumours that SN would introduce an "Economy Plus" class. Is this correct or not?

Re: SN African flights

Everybody knows SN has a great product on longhaul flights (maybe getting even better if the rumors about the economy plus or premium economy would become true), but SN should realise that using old and apparently not always reliable planes will make customers chose for other companies. Is it really...

Re: Oman Air eyes BRU

Someone with experience with Oman Air and/or Muscat airport for transit? I went to Oman 3 years ago (flying with LH though). Oman is a nice and peaceful country, hopefully it remains like that. Muscat airport was not so big and rather dated in 2013 (boarding via the tarmac), but construction of a n...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

As SN has renewed the interiors of all its Airbuses (both A319/320 and A330) in the last few years, the odds are passengers will hardly notice the difference if they were to get factory-fresh planes. Well, just one remark though.. A passenger does notice if the screens above the seats are working o...

Re: D R Congo creates an airline with Air France-KLM: Congo Airways

Congo Airways outlines regional, international expansion plans The plan seems to be very ambitious... what a difference with what was realised by Korongo... I still don't understand why Korongo couldn't realise more, being backed up by the know-how and the expertise of Brussels Airlines. However, w...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Yesterday, I flew on SN 2064 (EDI-BRU) on OO-SSK (exceptionally operated by the A319, as this flight is normally operated by the RJ100). I was surprised to see that the screens above the seats were used, showing the route map, the flight info (and even the transfer info for connecting passengers). I...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

9V-STI will never leave SIN in SQ livery. 2 options, or we paint them in SIN in SN colours, or SIN-TLS-BRU. Nice to see one of our birds in BRU, but very strange from SN to take an A330 with PW engines, when you have an entire fleet with GE engines... Why SIN-TLS-BRU : to do the painting in TLS? Ma...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

The A340-500 and 600 are not economic as there is the Boeing 777 wich have a lower operating cost. But in the case of SN operating another type of aircraft would mean new qualification for the crew, new maintenance etc, so for a company like SN the a340-500/600 fit perfectly. Maybe LH could lease 3...

Has a decision already been taken about the future of this particular aircraft?
Will it be written off or repaired?
Thanks,

Brussels - Bilbao R/T Brussels Airlines A319

Hi, My wife and I did a return flight Brussels-Bilbao (SN 3713 on September 10th 2015 - SN 3714 on September 13th 2015). I don't have the time to write a full trip report, didn't make any pictures, let alone a video, but here are some observations. Both flights were operated by OO-SSM. At the gate i...

Re: BRU Winter 2015/2016: latest news, routes, airlines

Adding more non-stop flights is a very good move.
Those triangle flights are a waste of time, especially as AF and KLM both offer mostly non-stop flights.
SN should offer Luanda non-stop in both ways too..
And flying via Luanda to Kinshasa adds at least 3 hours to the trip...

Expect more of these flight swaps in future, as well as some other very interesting news regarding the integration of SN in the Lufthansa long haul product line up in order to align us even more with Lufthansa. You seem to be well informed, and you make us curious... Let me guess : - a few LH A330-...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

Luchtvaartnieuws.nl mentions that 3 A330-200s will leave the KLM fleet in 2015 (end of lease).
Will those become available on the market?
If so, maybe they could be a good addition to Brussels Airlines' fleet?
Best regards,

Re: 4 MAY 2014 : Magma 747 incident in BRU

This makes me feel nostalgic, and reminds me of the time I lived in Schaarbeek between 1991 and 1996, when 2 or 3 times a week, the Sabena 747 took off a few minutes before midnight on its way to Afrika (Kinshasa - Johannesburg?), and often overflew my appartment. It did make noise, but nobody compl...

Re: Emirates to Brussels?

If the market analysis of Emirates about the potential of the Brussels-Dubai route is correct (and why would it not be?), then it's a missed opportunity for Brussels Airlines. Instead of launching a questionable Washington service, they should have focused on Dubai. Or did a code share agreement wit...

Re: Brussels Airlines A319s

Even when you have an A319 with the screens, it's not always guaranteed they will be used. I've been on a few flights in an A319 where the flgithmap was not used on during the flight... Maybe the system was inop those days. Hope you'll have them, as it is indeed a whole different flight exeperience....

Re: Jetairfly in 2014

Why is an older 737-800 (OO-JBV) replaced by a new 737-800 (OO-JEF)? I assume the new one has the new interior, and will probably more comfortable for the passengers, but the lease rate of the new one must be a lot higher than the older one? Do the lower maintenance costs offset this? OO-JBV is now ...

Re: A first big problem (and delay) for the JAF 787 OO-JDL ?

I'm surprised that it takes about 48 hours to repair an antenna/transponder failure. Like others have said here, Cancun is just a few hours flying time from the US. I understand that Jetairfly doesn't have a whole stock of parts at every station they fly to, but this delay does seem quite long. Abou...
