I don't expect to see QR at BRU in 2007 but it seems that they want to offer more European cities then the one in Eastern and one in Northern Europe. The next two European destinations seem to be Warsaw and Stockholm. But could BRU really support these new flights? After all we already have Etihad,...

It is a smart move from SNBA to use this plane as a backup for their African operations so that in case of a technical problem they don't have to look for a chartered plane and avoid long delays that can go for more than a day or two. They will be able to reduce their operational instabilities on th...

this seems to imply Don Muang never really closed? Perhaps it remained in use for general aviation? Only pax ops moved? Or pax + cargo? Don Muang is still handling charter, government and general aviation flights. Thai Airways is still doing heavy maintenance for its airplanes at Don Muang. And the...

Despite Suvarnabhumi's problems, airline industry in Thailand is indeed blossoming, with many new airlines projects ready to take-off. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/2007/01/02/business/business_30023066.php Well I wonder how many of these projects will really materialize. Competition in So...

The A330 comes from Austrian Airlines and it is a -200 iso -300. They will add Montreal as from june,3 frequences a week. I've heard that there were more than 30 customers interested in those A330s. The A330s avaiable are becoming scarcer everyday. If SN had succeeded in acquiring those frames cong...

Bravo Airlines (Palma de Mallorca) has given up plans to operate its single B767-200ER on behalf of its sister carrier Bravo Air Congo (Kinshasa Ndjili). It will continue to use the aircraft on charter services.

What about BKK? The A380 came or will come to all the major airports in S-E Asia (KUL, SIN, HKG...) except to BKK. TG has ordered six of them and carriers like LH ,QF, EK will probably fly their A380s into BKK. Maybe is Airbus afraid of some leaking toilets? Anyway if the A380 would come it would li...

So SN wants to add one more A330 and opens new routes to America and Africa. But with only one frame they will have to operate little frequencies (2 or 3 times weekly) to achieve this goal. They should better use this A330 for expansion only to Africa and to support the heavy schedule operated by th...

Well to me, it seems very unlikely that 9W will fly to BRU before the end of the year. Here are a few remarks: Jet Airways is a privately owned company so I think what the minister says will have very little impact on 9W decision when to fly to BRU. Moreover they won't have available airplanes to st...

After years of decrease in long-haul traffic, 2007 seems to be the year of expansion: with four additional daily flights to the States (if this service happens of course!) :!: I think AA is the most credible candidate, and why not with a B757? And what about Hainan Airlines haven't they expressed th...

This is again a great news for BRU in two weeks! It won't be 6 airlines but 7 airlines! (don't forget Jet Airways to NYC) For SNBA there are still possibilities for expansion to the USA with a close partnership with AA to DFW or MIA. But they should expand first in Africa with more direct flights fr...

My father just came back from PEK with HU and he found that the old schedules were far better than the current one. Flying to Cambodia with Bangkok Airways (+pics)
After having to cancel our trip to India because of Indian Airlines (but that’s another story…), my family and me decided we would go to visit Angkor Wat and Phnom Penh. This report contains three sectors: BKK-Siem Reap, Siem Reap-Phnom Penh and Phnom Penh-BKK all flown with Bangkok Airways. 17/07/0...
