Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020

Brussels Airlines seems to be adding a lot of flights from 1 July. Have been looking to go to Malaga, but fares have been very high (822 EUR one way). Used to be 4 weekly, since this morning up to 3 daily are bookable... got my ticket at 149 EUR this time. No idea about other destinations. Had to wa...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

I like Dash 8 but this is a slow aircraft and for non aviation-enthousiast as us, a turboprop always seems to be an old brol Dash 8 slow? ATR is slow. Dash 8 on short sectors is hardly a few minutes slower than a jet Dash 8 old? Having flown the Dash 8 and 737 I can tell you the 737NG is a lot less...

More expensive? Yes and no

Yes if you buy a long time before the flight.

No if you book last minute fe. Next Monday and return on Tuesday. Let's take the afternoon flights: KLM 620 EUR (basic fare) and with Air Antwerp only 264 EUR (economy).

Re: Air Antwerp, a new airline from Antwerp Deurne airport

I must admit that I have never followed closely the unfortunate "adventures" of VLM, because I never need to fly from or to ANR. Perhaps VLM did it or did not, but it would seem obvious to me that if you only have an average load of around 50%, you would look for a partner airline (BA ?) at LCY whi...

Re: Air Antwerp, a new airline from Deurne ?

It seems they will use ICAO code 'ATW' and callsign 'Devil' for their flights.

I think 3 months is the minimum they need to reply to an AOC request. Was reading somewhere they were hoping to get their AOC in August and start selling tickets soon afterwards. August would be about 3 months after they announced their plans... Btw June is finally showing rising passenger number ag...

Re: Air Antwerp, a new airline from Deurne ?

Great news and the best thing is that KLM is involved. KLM will know what destinations are selling well from Belgium: Antwerp (Thalys) and from BRU airport via AMS. ZRH and LCY seem to be logical choices. They were working very well before the last bankruptcy. At the moment I see this partnership as...

4 airplanes? More like 2: one to LCY and one to GVA. Other destination will be middle of the day operations with same planes. Luxemburg? Destination is GVA, but will make a stop in LUX on the way and try to sell some tickets. BTW they are very responsive when you contact them with some constructive ...

The Green party has nothing to say. They are cowards and too scared to get involved with real politics. Sticking to your own principles makes this come to a standstill. BTW the city has nothing to say about what is happening at the airport. It is the responsibility of the Flemish government ...

Thy only have ATR72 (36-56 seats) and PC12 (6-9 seats) aircraft. But indeed they might acquire other ones...
They have no planes at all. They will wetlease capacity since they are a virtual airline.

ANR to HAM in 1h20, to NCE in 1h50... simply not possible with an ATR72. Saab 2000 maybe? I hope it will be a real airline and not a new startup virtual carrier to operate the LCY. (daydream mode ON) My wishlist: BA Cityflyer to LCY with many possible onward connections. Adria with their 'new' Saab ...
