Re: Brussels region noise regulation
Now let's be fair, Sean. Flanders has most of the jobs at the airport (WAL: 2400, BRU: 3000, VL:14600, data from Brussels Airport); Flanders has most of the economic benefits; Flanders represents probably also most of the Belgian travellers. Why wouldn't Flanders have most of the noise as well, in ...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation
No, you cannot sweep away a study by that kind of argument. What coeur-europe says about UGent study is cmpletely valid. They really used the EU method combined with relevant real data form sonometers and they came to a conclusion. But you can still deny, it's your right. As well as Brussels REgio ...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation
Come on. First there are clear exaggeration about the job threat. Second, a simple politic decision can save the soup : prevent the noisy cargo to overfly the city, night and day. Concerning the UGent study, there is a counter-study done by Coeur-Europe. Very interesting... But Coeur-Europe ...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation
The question is, precisely : honest spread of DEP and ARR trafic at Brussels Airport. Flanders regio must support his part of nuisance. Simple logic. Flanders has 70%, Brussels 30%. I will post the source a bit later. And the source is not Flanders government. Research U Gent http://www.standaard.b...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation
Could you all please try to open your mind and listen to the arguments of both sides? Nobody has the privilege of having the only truth. Both sides have valid arguments. And there will be no solution if everybody sticks staunchly to his position. You give some and you take some: the only way out! D...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation
The reactions on this issue in Le Soir are staggering: http://www.lesoir.be/1445181/article/actualite/regions/bruxelles/2017-02-21/survol-bruxelles-appliquera-amendes-malgre-procedure-en-conflit-d-interet " les emplois sont à 90% flamand, les bénefs aussi, alors ils peuvent bien en supporter le...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation
Let's agree to disagree. As long as the discussion remains fair. I try to take into account the opinions of every region, and not to stick to the arguments of a single region. And in a solution, whatever it is, every region will have to take some and leave some. I work at the airport, and live unde...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation
Sorry André; don't agree. The solution that passenger proposes makes perfect sense: spread the flights over regions. After all, that is indeed what bigger airports do. No region/area should be advantaged.

Re: Brussels region noise regulation
Why should the airlines pay fines when they strictly follow the instructions of Belgocontrol? The latter (thus the Belgian Government) should be the one that pays the fines! And the Belgian Government should be the one to find a solution to the problem. After all, the Council of State, the highest ...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation
And an immediate solution is available: re-route the most noisy flights to existing routes that avoid Brussels. Dear André, Let me rephrase my previous comment: "We are all Belgians living in the vicinity of a busy airport and after all, a resident of Brussels doesn't have more privileges/is m...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation
Jean Marie Dedecker said also not so long ago that all the press is or in Jewish hands or manipulated by them. He is really not serious he is a populist that's all ,Brussels will never accept money . I don't really know about that, but what I know is that he may be partly right; politics can be nas...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation
Jean-Marie Dedecker in Knack - in his own special style - but hitting the nail on the head. He suggests, in his last alinea, the the situation will be defused by offering Bxl more money ... a political game after all? http://www.knack.be/nieuws/belgie/veel-vliegroutes-hebben-meer-met-de-woonplaatsen...
