Re: Air Belgium in 2019

Philippe Wilmart says that it would be optimistic with the (great) booking rate to announce before the end of September, the extension in the time of CRL-FDF/PTP-CRL flights until end August 2020. He adds that this arrival in French Antilles is a long-term engagement, and the airline hopes (as alre...

Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

BTW are you sure about Antwerp's "biggest in the world" Jewish (sic!) colony? I always heard there's more Jewish people in Brussels than in Antwerp, only Antwerp has a high percentage of the very visible "Chassidim". I'm not really sure. I heard it from a friend of mine who has close ties with all ...

Re: 2019 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news

So, yes: Arkia is an educated guess and one of the limited feasible options If you know that TUIFly's E190 out of ANR are already weight restricted as from Malaga (~1800km), Arkia's E190/5 (E1) aren't a commercially viable option for the ~3300km to TLV. Doesn't commercial viability depend on the pr...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

A new airline at Brussels Airport. Wizz Air will commence flights from Budapest to Brussels Airport as of next summer season. Flights will be operated with an A321 NEO. That means heavy competition for SN is on the way: LOT will launch flights to Budapest, and now also Wizz Air. Source: https://flig...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

I mean: same route BRU-MOSCOW is served 21 times by AEROFLOT, only 5 times by BRUSSELS AIRLINES. SN also has connections. SN simply underperforms on many destinations. Long way to go. With such a statement, it's obvious you know the load factor. Can you share that with us please? Same for the yield...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines

One of the 2 new routes might be Los Angeles, operated by Brussels Airlines (only rumor). I thought I remembered reading (here?) BRU-LAX was too far for SN, but on the other hand, I can see A330 flights from LAX to AMS, MAD,... So it should be possible? I believe the old A330's couldn't make it tha...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal

I hope this is just a temporary livery... It looks a bit empty without the extended blue tail. Could this be an indication that a new livery will be introduced soon? I think that this will be the definitive livery. LH announced a while ago that it wanted to be able to change aircraft within the dif...

SN expects 11 weekly flights as from Winter 19.
I do hope they will not fly just 11 flights per week. Or is this a new route?
TL is talking about the route to Bristol.

Maleth Aero to lease its A340-300 to Surinam Airways to operate on flights from Amsterdam to Paramaribo.

It looks like Air Belgium lost one of its oldest ACMI customers.
I thought to have read that it is an a340-600. So I think they lease it for its higher capacity?

Re: Airbus A380 news

According to this source, British Airways is looking to add up to six second-hand A380s. BA has for the moment 12 of the giant planes, the CEO says that 18 of them would make sense. It is of course also mentioned that they will do it only if an airline is willing to sell their aircraft at the right ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Maybe we can also expect an new (or updated) livery? The current one doesn't meet the LH-group livery 'rules' (read: a white livery with only a coloured tail and the brandname in front). I don't think so. Their first matter is to make the airline more profitable. Painting aircraft is something SN j...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019

Maybe we can start dreaming about A330-neo's? And A220's for the European routes, to replace the older A319's? Let's keep fingers crossed! Those aren’t available second hand. LH didn’t retract that only profitable airlines receive new equipment. That applies to ‘network airlines’ as well. OS gettin...
