Re: Electronic devices banned on Royal Jordanian (and other airlines) flights to the US and the UK
After rumours and even real proposals saying that the electronics ban would be extended to flights originating in Europe, the US Department of Homeland Security had talks in Brussels with the European Commission. No decision was taken though... Another article pointed to all international flights (...

Re: Brussels Airlines starts Mumbai flights in March 2017
There is also room for improvement regarding the arrival in BOM (very late 23:00 and you need to wait 7H or more to get a domestic connection to Bangalore for example)...

Re: The Suite lounge @ pier B Brussels airport
I haven't use it since July 2016, but, The Suite was really crowded with little commodities (late morning when all flights to US were departing).

Re: East Belgian airspace restricted because of network problems
@evyncke: interesting what you state about a relay at EBSH. Is there a list somewhere of these relays, and the frequencies they serve? When re-entering EBBU FIR from the East, I have often observed Brussels Information could not receive me very well, even from 4000'. AFAIK, there are only two anten...

Re: East Belgian airspace restricted because of network problems
The Friday paper LeSoir claimed that the network linking BRU, LGG, EBSP and EBSH was failing. It also claimed that the operation of this network was outsourced to another company. Now, as a private pilot, AFAIK, the EBSH (Saint-Hubert) is really important as the low air radio for the Ardennes is bro...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
I'm in Brussels Airport to take my flight and I was surprised that the tents are still there!!!! It's horrible looks like third world country... If these checks stay's they have to do it properly with a good infrastructure. I do not mind the tent by itself as a temporary building but getting this o...

Re: 17/06/2016 Swissport industrial action (baggage - cleaning)
After many flights from DUS (easy parking, easy control, ... but not too many destinations and about 10-15 minutes more driving -- at 160 km/h or more :-)), I just returned for the first time to BRU last week. Lost 10 + 5 minutes for stupid/useless security checks and on the return my LH flight was ...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
Just my thoughts: I'm afraid that, as long as this pre-check will continue, passenger numbers will suffer. There is the fact that you will loose extra time ( more limited now ) and I'm not sure that all people want to fly in or out a semi warzone. BRU is the only airport in Western Europe doing thi...

With all due respect, Mr/Mrs Flanker how often do you fly from BRU as passenger?
How many foreign colleagues/partners/customers have come via BRU and will probably no more come?

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks
Apparently, Federal Minister for the Interior, Jan Jambon, and the Police unions have agreed to new security procedures starting Wednesday that will "drastically decrease" the waiting times. Thanks for the added (bi-lingual :-) ) pieces of information. I cannot refrain from wondering what...

At the bare minimum, let's try to be vocal on twitter & Facebook towards BRU airport, SN and our 'smart' politicians (including our Premier). For example: https://twitter.com/BrusselsAirport/status/727165533850865667 See also Frequent Flyers forums: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/lufthansa-austr...

And this is surely the quote of the year: Marc Descheemaecker, Voorzitter Raad van Bestuur bij The Brussels Airport Company, on his FB-page: (By Google Translate) Damn .... 40 days work day and night to keep the reopening of the airport and a few stiff heads of the police unions stuck to that silly...

Re: 2016 Liège Airport (LGG/EBLG) latest news
Oh, and you might be surprised that those zero rates are arranged (essentially at night) to accommodate with TNT traffic to hit (or strike) them as less as possible. You would also be surprised to, even if it was possible, there is not enough militaries to take over. And last, but not least, during...

I am in the Thalys from Liège to Paris: back to normal, no more ticket checks on the platform in Liège, smooth as before and as it should be :-) Albeit all police people and armed forces converged to the Thalys platform when the tra...

Re: Trivia 2016 (miscellaneous news)
No government can prohibit that religion-driven extremists enter an aerodrome with a bomb in their luggage. We have (they have) prohibited that extremists entered the vulnerable part of the aerodrome though. Indeed, no Government, no policemen, no soldiers can do anything against fanatism. Educatio...

Re: Belgocontrol ATC strike from 22 April 2016
IS it true that the military atc in Melsbroek could take over (part of) the duties of Belgocontrol? Or do they also rely on Belgocontrol? There is no Melsbroek ATC. The military hangars are in Melsbroek, whilst the civil terminal is in Zaventem, but they both use the same runways and airspace of Br...
