Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
In all honesty, I do not know what NS's ICE Benelux plans are, but I do not expect a Dutch railway company to have a lot of consideration for BRU Airport. What are the managers of SN and BRU Airport doing, except sitting comfortably in their arm chair. OK, I am exagerating. In the terms of BRU bein...

Re: Air Belgium in 2023
as a passenger if possible 1st avoid CRL 2nd avoid BRU In a nutshell : avoid Belgium. In a nutshell... fly from ANR? Or maybe OST... But in all honesty: BRU isn't that bad: for Belgian travellers it's situated centrally, and the time lost travelling to another airport doesn't outweigh t...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
It will not happen. The Eurostar (new name of the Group) will not stop at Brussels Airport. Their CEO Gwendoline Cazenave said yesterday at the press conference presenting the new Eurostar-Thalys integration that the airport is not on a high-speed line and is well connected to Brussels Midi and the...

Re: Air Belgium in 2023
To be honest, the only route I could see them succeed as a passenger airline is Kinshasa. But will never happend unless they got traffic right. All the rest is deem to fait without right partner. It’s time for Air Belgium to stop their PAX operation and focus on cargo. If not they will be forced to...

Re: BRU Summer 2023: news, new routes, airlines
Not so sure, I fly on regular basis to Cambodia and I miss the BRU-BKK flight. I always try to avoid multiple stops even in ME-3. I prefer a flight of 10 hours, to rest. Wel if SIA open a BRU-SIN, will surely fly with them. (BRU-BKK is way better but another history) I guess every destination would...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
In de TIJD newspaper today, the CEO of SN complaints about the political unwillingness to connect BRU with the HST-network. In times where short haul flights (less than 500km) are under pressure to be cancelled ( forbidden) it is impossible to understand. We had lots of incompetent Ministers of Mob...

Re: 2022 Antwerp Airport (ANR/EBAW) latest news
Hi, Strange as you see... that RTM ( 3* daily ) and AMS ( BA+KLM) and LUX all got this connection... Flights in ANR weren't that bad on the route .. Even EIN has a 3* daily rotation to STN... So nothing new for ANR is indeed strange... BA with E175 even TUI with E190 could be working... The new FLY...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2022
The socio-economic impact for the local workforce would be, at least in the short-term, a disaster. Given its status as capital of the EU and NATO, there is a very large amount of traffic that is coming into BRU, not just from government officials and EU/NATO staff, but lobbyists, foreign represent...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2022
Intermodality is complex. For it to work efficiently and attract pax, you need to offer check-in at the point of departure (of the train to connect with a flight, and that, too, has a cost). Plus automatic transfer of baggage upon arrival (of the train) at the airport, to the flight. On the way bac...

Re: Strikes affecting Belgian airports in 2022
The only way you can have a national airline in Belgium is one owned by a government which takes the losses for granted. You mean our tax money? No thank you! If the airline can’t make money, it should fold. Like any other business. You mean any other business, like train companies? Postal services...

Re: Strikes affecting Belgian airports in 2022
All in all, ahead of a busy summer, a good bunch of strikes is well deserved for some of the Brussels Airport companies (Brussels Airlines included). They treated people (employees) like under-humans, the payback is on the way. At least, passengers were warned well in advance. Avoid Brussels Airlin...
