IF any of the administrators read this, maybe you could move this topic to the Hobby Forum, however that Forum did NOT exist when I started this thread. I have just listed another 36 items on the normal EBAY site, many really rare items including this Air New Zealand issued Lord Of The Rings ...

When the now long gone Air Queensland were operating Metroliners here, they used to have a set of scales on the tarmac for every flight, and weigh every passenger and every piece of baggage going on every flight. 8O

Probably a good idea, especially with the smaller Airliners.

Yes, that was my point, you cannot possibly blame the Manufacturer for most of these accidents.

You can have brand new Aircraft, flown by the best Pilots in the World, but if the Maintenance is not up to scratch............

This morning, with the broadband now, I could hardly keep up with it. 8O

I should have got this broadband years ago........

Great post. :D However this is what the President of Boeing said about the concept. Mulally said Boeing's assessment of the market has back-burnered the Blended Wing Body concept, at least for now, since the BWB "only makes sense in an aircraft larger than the 747, and we see the most gro...

I cannot see how anyone could possibly blame Boeing for a defect in Pratt and Whitney engines. As for the other Boeing Aircraft you mentioned, yes they are generally older, however the problem is where they are operating, that is in Third World Countries, more than blaming the Manufacturer. W...

Travellers flooded the websites of Qantas offshoot Jetstar and Virgin Blue yesterday in a bid to get the first 300,000 $29 one-way internet fares on offer in the budget air price war. The airlines' websites were unable to cope with the extraordinary demand and only a little more than half the cheap ...

I believe those are all real, from the USAF. I read many years ago of a similar official report in England with a Trident. where the Captain complained that the Aircraft landed too far left of centre when using autopilot, and the reply was that this Aircraft is not fitted with autopilot. 8O W...

Aviation Humour.

After that last thread, we need some humour........ :D This classic joke, with variations, can be found in almost every book with airline humor. And it must have happened somewhere, somehow... During a particularly rough flight, the airliner pilot addresses his passengers: "The turbulence we pa...

I purposely do not post just for the sake of it, only hopefully things of interest, except this thread which was supposed to be funny.

I know this was on a jetway, not an Aircraft.

However the same principle should be followed.

When changing a wheel assembly on an Aircraft, you are supposed to deflate the tyre before removing the wheel from the axle, most Engineers don't, but you are supposed to for this reason.
