Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
It had some spilling of a fluid in the hold that had really annoying and irrating smell in the cabin An airline with it's core business flying to Africa should plan to have some Febreze on hand. Seems to me like the sound of monkey shouts in a stadium... Having worked myself in luggage...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines
In the article, I see:
"Planned 166-seater A320neo operation as follows."
-> I know it's up to companies themselves to decide, but isn't the 320NEO designed to be a 180 or 189 seater?

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines
As far as I can tell, the B77W is hardly ever used by UAL at Brussels. Most of the time, I’d say over 99% of flights, is performed by the B772 whenever a B777 is used. Indeed, I think we only saw the 77W once or twice since it entered service at UA. Delighted to hear about SFO-BRU-SFO, let's hope i...

Re: BRU Summer 2020: news, new routes, airlines
The current aircraft, even the newer are not suitable for such long flight. For those flight a proper rest area (a bunk) is needed for the rest of the crew. The current configuration is then not suitable. Bunk should be installed in the cargo area with an access from the cabin. If not, no longer fl...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
Why are the prices to the UK destinations that high from Brussels? Except for MAN, because Ryanair flies from CRL. There are many ex pats here in Belgium and many tourist cities such as Brughes and Ghent have loads of British tourists. Why doesn't JET2.com, Easyjet or others offer a low cost link t...

Re: The Airbus general technical questions topic
Thanks for the confirmation, modeS. Yes I know it doesn't make a difference between the CEO and NEO about the ailerons folding down without hydraulics. What I meant was when landing, once spoilers are deployed that with "newer" aircraft also the ailerons raise in an upright position - this...

The Airbus general technical questions topic
Thought it would be a good idea to start a topic with some technical questions around Airbus. Let me begin first: - Why do the ailerons bend down when parked? Because of lack of hydraulic pressure when being parked? - Not all Airbus aircraft ailerons raise after landing I have the impression only &q...

Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2019
TUI fly Belgium flight TB2031 from Brussels to Boa Vista (Boeing 737-800 reg. OO-JAQ) diverted to Tenerife South around 09:15LT ... to be refuelled. Wrong calculation? Unexpected headwinds? With too much headwind, sometimes the 737NG can't reach Boa Vista with full passenger load unfortunately. Pas...

Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2019
I'm not an expert but given the "normal" flight time to TFS (4h05 - which might even be a little faster as usual), I don't think it's because of headwind. Very interested in this kind of more technical matters, if a pilot or insider is willing to give more information about it?

Usual 25L for landings, saw already several go arounds probably due strong crosswind (330 degrees at 16 knots).

Re: 07L or 07R at BRU
If I'm not mistaken, 07R has an instrument approach (VOR though, so non precision) where 07L doesn't have any instrument aid available at all (only visual approaches).
Some fellow members who are pilots flying out of BRU can probably give you some more detailed technical info.
