Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Hi everybody, OO-SSH A319-100 has left the fleet after 8 years. OO-SSY ex-Austrian is coming at the begin of JAN23 ! Incorrect, SSH is still in the fleet. I'm sorry RTM but my info is correct. Last flight of SSH was the past Monday between Geneva and Brussels. The aircraft is phase out at BRU ;) Yo...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Seems this went unnoticed...
But last tuesday, 8-2, OO-SSM, the final aircraft in the fleet with a tie to the old Sabena, took off for her final flight to St. Athan.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
Sorry, have to agree with Bralo20... It is a tradition carried over from the sea. When navy's decided to paint the national flag on the ships rather then (always) flying them, the consensus was agreed to do it this way, for the reasoning Bralo gave. Though not mandatory, aviation adopted it as well....

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
That is a Boeing thing... Airbus doesn't do D checks, paint stripping is not required. Repaint is normally done every 4 to 5 years. Sometimes more, sometimes less...jan_olieslagers wrote: ↑25 Jun 2019, 18:47 It is often done as part of maintenance. One level of check (C? D?) requires stripping the paint so it must be redone anyway.

Re: Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX crashes between Addis Ababa and Nairobi - Impact on Boeing 737 MAX
On the other hand... Airbusses are 100% fly-by-wire. The 737 isn't. So where an airbus would have to rely on more inputs and computers to safeguard maximum redundancy, the 737 can fly totally mechanical should the need arise. The question is where th computerized envelope protections fit in. They ce...

Re: Ethiopian Airlines Boeing 737 MAX crashes between Addis Ababa and Nairobi - Impact on Boeing 737 MAX
I don't understand how Boeing's chief engineering office has validated this envelope protection system with only 2 AOA sensor's relying on one input to validate exceedance. At contrario, Airbus is using three sensors which required correlation between two of them to validate inputs to Flight contro...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Lets leave it at that. I read your reply, and can only conclude that your reasoing is based on assumptions. That is fine. But not all of them are accurate. Also, if you want to compare delta to SN, feel free to do so. But stay reaistic, they are apples an pears. The fastest ways to go out of busines...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Fact is a 9 years old airplane will always (most likely) look better than a 25 years old one. There is retrofit and retrofit. When SN says it retrofits a plane it's minimalist to say the least. The last years (2005-2006 / 2012-2013) it was only removing old seats for new ones, almost the same lavat...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
I can not compare with the new one but in Y the interior of Singapore Airline (SFX) was cleaner than the Y in SN plane's.... I think that they changed the seats but not all the interior for example I was seated on 37A ( it was a 200)in my last flight and the carpet was loose on my feet it was dirty...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
The interior of OO-SFC is far from being a hard punishment: https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/7815191 Basically the regional products of Asian carriers is up the long-haul product standards of many European carriers. This one is much more attractive than what EW proposes on the A340s. Now, I know it'...

Also, SFB is planned to transfer to SN at the end of the year. Including a repaint, it will however not get the new interior for the time being.
