Re: RYR at BRU (press conference)
There will not be 1500 new jobs in Brussels... let me tell you how it will go: - Handling: they might have extended some contracts but why would you employ extra loaders for a flight with hardly any bulk baggage? Don't forget they are cutting costs at the handling company. So this will be another fl...

Outsourcing is a good idea cost-wise but as you understand from this story you lose all control on how a service is led.

Re: The Brussels Airlines press conference of 30 January 201
Come on guys let's be fair about this press conference... Mainly they were selling air. Spreading it over 3 days to attrack as much as attention possible. - Most of the new destinations are relaunches. And then I'm not even talking about codeshares/partnerships... - They talk about ongoing projects ...

Re: A British Airways B747 crashes into a building @Johannes
I agree with Flanker. I add. During the latest decennia cockpit work has changed a lot. Nowadays pilots can rely on their systems. The point where they lose focus is easily reached. Not during takeoff or landing but right before or after... The no-blame politics should indeed be supported for 'small...

Re: A British Airways B747 crashes into a building @Johannes
A small paranthesis: aviation is so safe because the sole purpose of accident/incident investigation is to identify the root causes and remediate them. In no sense is the apportion of blame one of the objectives of such investigation. History has shown that if it does, it automatically leads to low...

So why did nobody else divert yesterday? I looked up the wx for yesterday... I understand that the airline would not send that plane back to BRU, the station where it had just diverted from, since Weather did or was not going to improve at all. Some captains try, others don't... what is right, what...

Moreover, it already happened that there was a translator in such flights because the english level of the crew was to poor, problem being that the translator isn't a professional of aviation  It's standard procedure but all of them are captains, some of them even flew with Sabena. Re: Horrorflight HU491 Beijing - Brussels / Hainan Airlines
Amsterdam is not a good airport for a diversions. I've heard numorous reports about handling problems when you're simply a visitor. And bad weather in the taf. Eindhoven is too small for an A330 ops. Luxemburg could have been an option but probably no history with that airport.. I can understand the...
