Re: BRU infrastructure: future
Am I really the only one who thinks this design is plain ugly? It doesn't fit in the surrounding infrastructure neither. So you prefer boring architecture like 95% of all buildings in Belgium? Come on. If you go to Holland (or France, or Germany, or...), it's amazing how many great new architecture...

Re: Belgian Defense Minister De Crem in favour of F35 (wikil
Fighter aircraft are still important if you want to be a reliable and respected NATO partner. Just look at the F16's in Lybia and Afghanistan. What do the Taliban fly with again? Even a 60-year old spitfire would give overall air superiority in Afganistan! And what are you gonna do when a hijacked ...

Re: Belgian Defense Minister De Crem in favour of F35 (wikil
We better not waste any taxpayer's money on new military fighter planes, that's what I am thinking! In a climate where our goverment is to cut 7 to 8 BN euro a year, I'd put new F-35s pretty low on my to do list! Let the F-16s soldier on for as long as they possibly can and after that... we can do ...

There is real glamour at SN !
... maybe some used Tupolevs in the future? SN is really the "second hand", low-budget airline

Re: BrusselsAirlines - the TURBOPROPS will come!
There is an interesting and animated thread on the " avoidance of the american public of TP" on airliners.net. Lots of pros and cons ( monstly con though). A few guys raise the subject of the perception the general public has on TP's and it confirms what I said somewhere here above: In my...

Ik zou zeggen dat Brussels Airlines in z'n geheel weinig (tot geen) glamour kent. Maar dat heb je natuurlijk als je een naam kiest die klinkt als een regionaal maatschappijtje...

Re: Taxi's blocking Brussels Airport after police shot drive
Reading some posts on the forum and soon everyone will be having to use Dutch to hail a cab from Brussels Airport to Brussels or Wallonia. It is still the national airport for the entire country and all its guests from around Europe and indeed the World. This only convinces me that Flanders should ...

Re: Taxi's blocking Brussels Airport after police shot drive
I don't agree. The vast majority of Brussels taxi drivers don't speak a word of Dutch and the airport (Zaventem) is in Flanders. Don't forget that the airport name is Brussels National ... So Flanders or not, it doesn't matter... The official name is "Brussels Airport" and it's owned by a...

Re: Taxi's blocking Brussels Airport after police shot drive
To avoid such incidents in the future, it seems to me that Brussels Airport management should negotiate an agreement between the Flemish Region and the Brussels Region to allow taxis to pick up passengers in both directions. It would save passengers a lot of money and prevent situations like we jus...

This is a scary story.

Re: Illegal immigrants escape from Zaventem
Security/police services @ BRU should be ashamed ! So people can drive a car on the runways without being caught? Isn't there more security and/or police personnel on the tarmac? I have always the impression that security and police services in Belgium are not very professional (to put it polite). W...

Re: Full take over Brussels airlines by lufthansa
When (and I say when) LH buys SN for 100% they will also be owner of the SABENA brand... Unfortunately not. The Sabena brand belongs to the curator of the bankruptcy. He might sell it to Lufthansa, but at a cost! It would still be a very good investment I think. Having a well-known (global) brand i...

They would be stupid if they don't change the name back to Sabena, certainly if they own the brand.
Who would drop a worldwide brand, for a new unknown name!? It's like Coca-Cola would change its name in 'Atlanta Cola'...![Rolling Eyes ](./images/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif)
