Baby bassinet in business class on SN flights to JFK?
Quick question: Is there the possibility for a baby bassinet in the new business class on SN? If so, which seats? I couldn't find any information on SN's website. LX apparently offers a baby bassinet on their flights, and the seats are in a similar configuration. We are considering flying to JFK wit...

Re: Air India: "Jet Airways may join Star Alliance too"
If 9W enters *A, I think it would make sense for them to stop flying BRU-North America, and instead add one or two Indian destinations from BRU. Their alliance partners (SN, UA, CO, AC, US) will be able to provide the TATL service more efficiently from their hubs. One-stop "direct" flights...

Re: BRU summer 2011: latest news, routes, airlines
I am not sure the RJs can fly to LCY. STOL is a requirement, which is fulfilled by the Avros and the A318. Otherwise I haven't seen any jets at LCY - but then I haven't been there for a while.

Indeed, bring on BRU-LCY. One caution though: The person that added the destination to Wikipedia is based at Suffolk University in the US (according to the IP address). Not sure how close this person is to SN, BRU or LCY!

Re: BRU: Schengen Bus Arrivals drop-off at pier A - why?
OK, thanks, makes sense. Still surprised to see lots of connecting passengers from HAJ for a 19:40 arrival - after all, there are no more long-haul flights and I thought that there are only a few connections to which a transfer would make sense. Checking this - Let's count all of the flights with an...

No, as the bus arrival at Pier B is after passport control.Sam V wrote:I think it is because it's not allowed to mix non-schengen pax with schengen pax

BRU: Schengen Bus Arrivals drop-off at pier A - why?
I arrived from HAJ last week, and since it was a remote stand, we were bussed to the terminal. However, unlike my previous remote stand arrivals (which admittedly were more than one year ago), we were not dropped off close to the exit at pier B, but at pier A. This was very annoying as we had to wal...

Re: EU admits making errors regarding closure of airspace
Good article (in German): http://www.pilotundflugzeug.de/artikel/2010-04-19/Vulkanausbruch_und_die_Folgen It points out that the ICAO plans always refer to "ash clouds" but the VAAC forecast was for "contaminated areas". However, the ICAO contingency plan was then implemented as ...

Re: Flights cancelled due to volcanic ash cloud from Iceland
At least some good news for the BRU spotters - a BA 747 from Bahrain will be landing at BRU within the next 15 minutes. Diverted to BRU (instead of flying to LHR) just 10 minutes ago. I guess NATS refused permission to use UK airspace below 20,000 feet.

When will BRU-HAJ switch to SN? I checked some dates in May last night, and it is still shown as LH (Eurowings), but all booking classes are zeroed out.tolipanebas wrote:Simultaneously, the route will officially be switched to SN, although it will remain being operated by Augsburg Airways....

Re: Ryanair: Costs could be reduced by flying without Co-Pil
Okay, but on-topic again : why can trains/busses do the job without a 'dog' and aircraft 'not'. Risks are the same and lives are in both cases on risk. The dog in trains is called a dead-man button, we accept this without thinking! Technology of a dead man button in planes already exist with auto-l...

Re: Brussels Airlines joining Star Alliance in December 2009
[*]AF is cheaper out of Brussels (even when including first class TGV between Brussels and CDG). Strangely enough, AF is more expensive to Africa out of CDG than out of BRU. SN is probably playing the same trick out of Paris![/list] This is absolute standard pricing in the airline industry. You alw...

Re: B737 pilot who had no valid license , arrested at Schiphol
They should have known that the safety of hundreds - if not thousands - of people has been put at risk. Unlikely to be thousands. Usually, you only crash once... So my gut feeling was right when I decided not to book with Corendon a few months ago although they offered a direct flight from Brussels...

Corendon is possible; yesterday, there was only a Turkish Airlines flight, and a Corendon flight from AMS to ESB.

Are the fighter pilots in jail now? Seems nothing less than manslaughter to me!
Edit: Found it myself: "The two Peruvian pilots who shot down the Bowers plane spent 10 months in prison in their native country but were never charged with a crime."

Re: FR cancels flights: 200 pax stuck in Lanzarote
Ryanair are not telling the whole truth (as always). Read the regulations. There are two distinct issues: - monetary compensation: Airlines have to pay 250 Euro (for most EU flights) for denied boarding or cancelled flights if they are responsible. This is therefore not applicable in your case as th...
